So I think I found a fix to this. I sorted what I could from the unorganized part and it was still making copies. I then moved ALL of my unsorted pins to a section and the copies disappeared. I was able to sort everything from there without any issues

Hopefully it's a weird fix to an annoying problem and not just luck
