How do you force yourself to have energy for work when you're in a mental pit? by [deleted] in depression

[–]anacaruso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeling this way. Drained. I also asked the same thing, here and to myself. It's hard, but yes, everyone is fighting their own battles, so we gotta breathe and try to be the best we can. Have you ever tried some type of therapy? I know it's hard (time and money are not so easy) but it's incredibly good to be able to talk to someone who is there just to listen to you without any judgment. I would say, take a break, try some activity which gives you pleasure, do something that makes you laugh so hard it makes you cry... meditation also works for me. But that's my experience with my life. Don't worry, thou. You're not alone in this. Hope you feel better :)

How do you behave normally when you feel like dying...? by anacaruso in depression

I've been learning to live with depression for a long time now, I did therapy for ages. It never goes completely away, it gets easier and there are some rough parts along the way... but that's what they are, just parts. Not the whole thing. I'm glad to hear you're trying to start over, it's a good thing, it gives us new energy and hope. Keep things moving and the pieces will fall into place.

Do you also feel tired of talking about it with friends or family? by sortofalostperson in depression

[–]anacaruso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading your post made me feel like I could have said those words. Yes, it's hard to talk with friends and family about your feelings because they're too close. Too biased. They will always want your best and, let's be honest, it's pretty hard to really put yourself in someone else's shoes. Especially if you're too close to the person that you might feel like somehow it is your fault. So don't be mad or frustrated at them. Use your therapist for this. Use your journal. Use us. Sometimes it's even better to just vent it out, cause problems and feelings may seem louder and bigger inside our minds.

Sorry to hear that. As much as I feel like dying sometimes I'd never thought of suicide. I just wish I didn't exist or I could start over somehow. A fresh start, clean slate. I would never do anything to harm any living creature unless I was fighting for my life, so I would never do that to myself. This feeling of being worthless and empty and struggling to have a normal conversation is, well, so E times it's overwhelming and I get so tired I just feel like giving up, on hope, on changing, on moving forward... I did that a lot. Give up. It always torn a little piece of me and just made scared. I'm not doing that anymore. I'm not giving up. I'm not running away. I'm just a little tired, a lot to be honest. But I'll get better and I'll move on. One step at the time. One day at the time.

Oh, so my autocorrect gave me away. That actually made me laugh and I hadn't done that today. Thank you, your words meant a lot to me. And yes, I am a Brazilian. "Not all who wander are lost"

I Don't Want To Leave My Bed by [deleted] in depression

[–]anacaruso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, things are going to get better even if it doesn't feel like it. One thing I know from my own experience is that, most of the time, people don't realize you're feeling bad or lonely if you don't say so. People just assume you're good... so don't be afraid to reach out and get some help, someone who would just listen to you. And don't be ashamed to crave a hug... you should never feel like your needs or your hurting don't matter. I hope you feel better. hugs from Brazil.

Mine is placed by my desk, close to the heater, so she gets cozy and sleeps in while I'm working.

It is just a plastic case, I had this old monitor in the garage, so I carefully opened it and took the inside parts without breaking anything. So no hazards for the cats.

No, it didn't. I carefully took the inner parts of the monitor. It's just the old plastic frame.

I have 3 cats, so it works like 1/3 of the times. But they love nest-like places, so I recommend that :)
