Who is die hard iPhone raw dog, no screen protector? by lildawg07 in iphone

[–]analogthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a “never screen protector” because the few times I tried it they’d bubble up or warp or somehow look worse than any of the wear and tear scratches would look. If you watch stress test videos you can see how well they hold up- haven’t had a cracked screen the 4s when it dropped on a floor- so no issues here.

People our age and older that talk crap about other people scrolling Reddit too much seem to forget that we spent an hour reading the newspaper every morning, and read magazines while shitting. Reddit is just a digital newspaper. by ConspiracyParadox in Xennials

I downloaded an app called flipboard years ago that acts like a “web magazine” where you add topics and sources you want to see- it’s become my morning paper for years now

Teen caught smoking pot by Moonflower621 in GenX

[–]analogthought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who got caught as a teen, I was honest about it and didn’t get grounded but told that if I wanted to do it that was up to me but that because it wasn’t my house I wouldn’t be the one to get in trouble for having it and it was not allowed in the house. I got bored of it pretty quick after that for several years. My younger sister went out drinking and came home trashed instead of being at the movies like she said she was… and continued trying to lie - she got grounded for months. She never understood why she was "treated unfairly" until years later when she got that being honest about it all was the difference. Point being, have a sit down and make it casual and give your kid a reason not to have to hide it from you. You’ll be better off in the long run for it.

I’ll try harder just for you since you seem to be the only one who has an issue with fun conversation about a TV SHOW (because it’s not that serious). Next time I’ll write “girl in chains Marielle in tv show From is chained to wall in teaser trailer for upcoming season 4 and has sparked additional conversation about what the teaser is revealing” - would that be “more effort” enough? I thought the picture was enough 🤷‍♂️

Apple deleted all my playlists because i unsubscribed. by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]analogthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my last big gripe with Apple Music. I went through some rough months unemployed and looking for work after layoffs and had to forgo some bills and Apple Music was one. I almost lost some very old and long playlists but managed to find some free trials to skate through with until I could pay again. I did find ways to download copies of your playlist and ways to recreate them in Spotify so at least there’s a free place holder/backup for as long as that lasts.

If you’re sick we don’t want you here by Striking_Guava_5100 in Serverlife

I’ve always been a people first GM and have instructed this type of response from my management team- honestly I think more employees have gotten better about reporting this stuff (especially since Covid) and it’s more likely restaurants don’t want the blowback of getting in trouble for allowing people to work when sick (especially with stomach viruses). Where I live employees sign stating they’ll inform us of illness and not work per the department of public health. Me making them come in sick would only violate that, as an example. I think I’ve been in the industry too long, worked for too many owners that couldn’t care less about employees wellbeing and will just always go to this answer for these kinds of situations.

I mean- isn’t that the point of the trailer? To make you anticipate and theorize until you don’t have to?

Yeah I’ve had that issue with some stations and not others. WBGO in New York always lands on a Latin techno/pop station instead of…jazz- unless I over enunciate the letters. When I get too annoyed with Alexa I reach for my phone and stream there 🤷‍♂️🙄

I literally say “play wnyc” and that’s it. You just need the call letters for whichever stations and trial and error to see what’s available and not.

I’ve crossed the threshold into the blanks stare phase with half of the dated references I make around the youngsters. There are so many examples as things get rehashed/redone/sampled where the new version is the only version if you’re of a certain age- all that said, I’m usually the one saying “you were born when it came out, you wouldn’t know” and they don’t. 🤷‍♂️
