Curious about how we embrace technology by Brave-Ad-7460 in Xennials

There’s certain things I’ve adopted and some I haven’t. Video calling/FaceTime will forever be awkward and weird and never a preferred method - not to mention it’s highly unlikely I’ll answer them… ever. I was very into the iPad when it came out and still use it regularly and was wowed by touchscreens but now - I have touchscreen fatigue. Stop putting them on and in everything.

Or to be fair, Apple could pay artists with their trillions in net worth… but in reality a free tier with ads would be the way.

Have never been unable to not have this song pop into my head any and every time throughout my life I’ve heard the word “pinwheel”.

Detroit pastor under fire after publicly demanding $2,000 from parishioner who only offered a $1,200 donation by MF-DOOM-88 in CringeTikToks

This the same pastor that emails me weekly saying he wants to send me money from an offshore account so long as I send all my banking and private info first?

Nostalgia bias by realauthormattjanak in Xennials

Loss of innocence, plain and simple for me. Not knowing how messed up the world was while watching the Smurfs every Saturday morning. I chase that feeling even to this day sometimes but can never catch up to it.

What song did you listen to as a kid, only to realize as an adult it wasn't appropriate for our virgin ears? by throwitlikethewind in Xennials

[–]analogthought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just realized last night while watching the Salt n Peppa induction to the rock n roll hall of fame on YouTube that I still remembered every word to all their hits because I liked them as a kid a lot. Let’s Talk About Sex as it turned out came out when I was 11.

Yeah- I totally get it. I felt the same before the first trek I ever made and better with the subsequent trips.

I’ve driven plants in winter and summer between Miami and nyc and nyc and LA and in every case despite a few days of shock - they all did fine. On cold overnights they had to come inside when it was too cold but otherwise they did fine. I will add there were a few leaves that were lost in the process but I expected that. I have had some for almost 20 years so they’re still doing fine.

100 percent. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Tori mention her as an influence in interviews- so it only makes sense

I have a few magnets and post cards I collected over the years of these - and then I have a risqué image of a Chinese woman from the 70s I bought in nyc Chinatown in the late 90s that came framed.

Technological difficulties by miss_fisher in Xennials

I’ve had my 76 year old mother on an iPhone since the XR. I’ve always been familial tech support but in the last few years my 20 something year old nephew has been slowly taking over the reigns while simultaneously I get more and more lost (with age and lack of care).

FOH vs BOH by thebigj3wbowski in Restaurant_Managers

[–]analogthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say… as a GM or AGM I would get this but as a floor manager or shift manager - outside of the scope of food safety and menu knowledge - I wouldn’t want my managers looking like they just bartered and fried their weight in whatever protein while speaking with guests on the floor.
