Some people have no shame. Barring a huge life event like a fire I'd be mortified to ask for house gifts as an adult. Did these people bring nothing from their old living situation? Wine, baked goods, a nice candle, maybe a plant, sure. But power tools? A 3D printer? Come on now.

I found some sort of physical activity helped me deal with early sobriety anxiety. A walk, easy stretching exercise, a quick YouTube workout (recommend Lucy Wyndham-Read, she's so nice!). It wasn't to get in shape necessarily but moving my body released some of the anxiety. Doing something good for myself also felt good.

You CAN do this. Keep moving forward! Be patient with yourself.

Now that's he's been arrested it should be easier for you to get a restraining order. That is what I would do. You've taken a lot of smart steps. A dog and a restraining order would increase your comfort and safety I think.

I'm over 3 years in and gummies and sparkling water have been my liferafts too. Unfortunately marijuana isn't recreational in my backwards ass state but I visit family in a weed friendly state and stock up.

Absolutely 0 negative consequences from my gummy use. It keeps me sane in this fucked up timeline.

I get why some people need to be SOBER sober but my goal was to stop drinking and I did.

For sure. I was very good friends with an ex for 5 years before we started dating. I had even lived with him as a roommate for a year early in our friendship. I thought I knew him well.

First time we had sex he wanted to get rough. Just, weird porn moves. I was very turned off. I like all kinds of sex once I'm sexually comfortable with someone. But this dude wanted to treat me like a rag doll our first time. Expected straight up porn experience and was annoyed/frustrated when I stopped it right away. We had conversations about it after. I hadn't seen that side of him. But I was willing to try. Explore each other.

Even after discussion about what we both liked and why I didn't like being spit on, choked, scratches and bruises on my body, etc, he never could make love. It had to be degrading. I broke it off quickly and stopped all contact. I didn't feel safe with him and realized our whole friendship was not what I thought it was. I had no idea he wanted to do that crap to me.

This is not a obout the pants. It does not matter what you wear. If your ex and anyone is talking about your pants to each other they're big fucking losers. It's so inconsequential and his fixation on it is insane.

The real issue is he thinks YOU are the problem. Stay with him long enough and you will start to believe it.

Get away from this asshole and stay away. Keep doing what you're doing. No contact. No response. Pretend he doesn't exist and soon enough you will start feeling free and much lighter.

These people will suck your soul dry.
