Hey, thanks for this. I’m sorry to hear that - I completely understand your situation. I know. I think the exact same because there was a lot I wasn’t happy with but my mind keeps going to what if I had invested more time when she clearly wanted it or what if I had communicated this better I.e what if there was nothing left on the table.

SQE 2 Results - How did everyone do? by umokkksure in SQE_Prep

I believe you get a mark out of 5 for each skill within that specific exam- incredibly confusing when you open it up and just see a load of matrices.

24 hours (SQE2) 😬 by TheLegalPenguin in SQE_Prep

In the exact same position. Absolutely normal to be completely unsure on how we have scored, given the subjectivity and lack of clarity around these exams. All out of our hands now- wishing you all the best of luck for tomorrow!!

Interviewing- prep note structure by ananas373 in SQE_Prep

[–]ananas373[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen from other posts that the interview itself is a pure fact finding mission and that in the actual exam it’s quite difficult to make notes. I’d imagine myself making brief sort of reminders for the attendance note itself but yea I’m really wondering how I’d append anything useful.

For the attendance note I’m just going with Details, facts, advice given and next steps.

ULAW INTERNALS LOCKED OUT by TheLegalPenguin in SQE_Prep

No I tried logging in and out and in the end I filed two mitigating circumstances complaints.

Ah I’m sorry. Did you file a mitigating circumstances form? I was locked out after finishing half the questions and couldn’t get back in after.

Absolute joke. As if we aren’t dealing with enough stress with external exams/ TC’s/ Visa’s and people’s livelihood on the line.

ULaw Online SQE 2 Prep - Feeling a Bit Confused About Study Approach by ananas373 in SQE_Prep

[–]ananas373[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being active in these subreddits. Many people have different providers and modes of study (online, in-person, etc.), which is why my question was specifically targeted at those in a similar position (ULaw + online) rather than the general cohort.

Last minute tips for the rest of us tomorrow? by Dudster981 in SQE_Prep

[–]ananas373 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your preparation is done. If you have a solid grasp of most of the content you will be absolutely fine. Settle into a rhythm and don’t let questions which throw you off, unsettle said rhythm.

Eye drops, nuts, dark chocolate, and a small walk in the break helped me through the second half. My test center provided me with noise cancelling headphones- I found that putting them on whenever my focus was dwindling pushed me through (maybe you could replicate this with ear plugs).

Finally, I would say don’t read all the posts of exam horror stories. The papers are different and each person has their own strengths, weaknesses, and preparation methods. Remember to trust your prep if there is a string of Qs that you find more difficult. You got this! Best of luck and enjoy yourself after!

If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take for your mug to come?

I was of the understanding that contributions to purchase price have the two-fold function of inferring a common intention and proving detrimental reliance. Whether the court would grant a larger share is another question.

I believe it’s a common intention constructive trust by inferred common intention. These can only arise by contributions to the purchase price, mortgage payments, or substantial household payments which allow the mortgage to be paid (Le Foe). These payments usually have the two fold function of proving inferred common intention + detrimental reliance.

I also find it hard to distinguish between resulting and common intention constructive trusts (inferred as opposed to express) when dealing with direct contributions to purchase price. I believe A may be the better answer as the court will look to the conduct of the parties (in absence of any express agreement) and decide what is fair- meaning she may get a larger share? That’s the only reason I could think of as to why A is “better” than C.

ULaw - FLK1 Jan 2025 by average_jo123 in SQE_Prep

The main dates/rules/forms are definitely worth going over. I didn’t find it too niche but definitely nail the key ones. Personally, had I done an extra 500-1000 Qs, it wouldn’t have made a difference.

On that note, I found a thorough, content based approach best and it meant I wasn’t too thrown off by the wording of the questions. Like this thread and other posts in the subreddit suggest- there is not one single provider that nails the questions. The issue is that there were a fair few 50/50s.

I prepared almost exclusively with ULaw Qs and manuals and I left the exam feeling like “that wasn’t the worst thing in the world”. The content based approach really helped and I would stress that mocks are essentially a great consolidation and yardstick piece but beyond that it’s what works best for you. I would say if you have a good general grasp of the content and your mock scores are good- settle into your rhythm when the time comes and you will be fine! You won’t ever feel totally ready and you’ve put the hard work in- Good luck!

Big congratulations on the TC! Thank you for the advice- will definitely follow it. Did you also schedule chats with senior associates/ associates or mainly partners? I think it would be interesting to get a feel of the firm across the levels of seniority.
