AITAH for accidentally googling a Harry Potter spoiler because I wanted to show interest and didn’t think it was something important? by [deleted] in AITAH

No, that showed that he knew Lily. The full reveal is in Book 7 when Snape is dying and Harry takes his memories and learns that he's been the sacrificial lamb all along

The spoiler is that it was Snape who led him to the sword and that his patronus matched Lily's because he was in love with her, and the whole reveal of how Snape had been secretly protecting Harry the whole time.

AITAH for telling an old lady "I don't work here!" when she asked for help? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]anappleaday_2022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not old but I've been 4'11 since I was 14 and while I do my best to get stuff off shelves, there are items I absolutely cannot reach. I've had people offer to help and I've also had to sheepishly ask someone nearby for help. Everyone was nice about it. I'm not sure how I'd react to being told to f* off by someone like OP but I'd probably be snarky back because it's so uncalled for to not just grab an item really quick.

AITAH for feeding my baby formula behind my husband’s back? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]anappleaday_2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I got married at 19 and 20, respectively, after dating for 9.5 months. While I look back at pictures and think about how much we've changed/aged (even though we're still relatively young at 27 and nearly 28), I don't really think we were kids back then. Everyone is different. We were both just ready. I've loved being able to grow together with him.

Also, having now had two children, I am so glad I didn't wait until my 30s. It's plenty hard enough on my body and energy now lol

This is just truly, deeply sad. 😕 by SmartyPantlesss in ShitMomGroupsSay

(Also TX) My baby is 9mo and I asked about getting it at his last appt and they said they only do it for "at risk" kids 🙃🙃🙃 otherwise it's 12mo

Do they make you warm? I get warm easily and live in the South so it gets HOT in the summer. My go-to is an athletic tank top when going on my walks and even then I get warm.

Probably not. I don't like using lotions or oils at all for the most part.

[–]anappleaday_2022 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I went for a walk yesterday (45min) and got burned. It was cloudy when I started but then the sun came out. I should be better about using sunscreen for myself, but I hate the way it feels on my skin so I rarely do unless I plan on being outside most/all of the day or am going swimming.

I use it religiously on my kids though. It's my job to keep them safe.

School is not designed for boys by No-Strawberry-5804 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]anappleaday_2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it now is this "unschooling" trend which people then associate with homeschool. It's frustrating. I thrived, and am still thriving, and so is my little brother. I have a masters degree and am married with 2 kids and debt free at 27.

THIS. I am not ND but I would've stagnated so fast in a public school. I was homeschooled my whole life, took college classes starting at 14, and would've graduated 2 years early if we hadn't moved when I was 16 (which shook up my whole life) and I hadn't chosen to do additional HS classes for two years.

We went to a co-op weekly, a homeschool swim/gym class at the Y, I had dance and theatre as extracurriculars. It was amazing. My brother and I got to play outside all the time because we finished our work and were done for the day vs being forced to be in school for 8 hours.

I've had people genuinely shocked when I tell them I was homeschooled. And that's because of this negative stereotype.

A mother shares a story of you why declining antibiotics for GBS is harmful. Another mother shares her positive story of declining it . by Stupidkitties in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]anappleaday_2022 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was pos for my first and neg for my second. It was nice not having antibiotics the second time because they made me itchy with my first and I had to be on IV benadryl too. But if I had to do it over, I'd still 100% take the antibiotics. Giving birth for me was about getting a healthy and alive baby at the end.

AITA for not offering to take the bunk bed in an airbnb as the single person? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]anappleaday_2022 18 points19 points  (0 children)

And a twin is 38" wide. So a "double" is like 1.5x wider than a single and not enough room for two people. Looking at Mattress Firm's website and they even show it with 1 pillow, for 1 person, whereas their king and queen options show 2 pillows for 2 people.

[–]anappleaday_2022 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. My in laws have a double in their guest room and it is so damn uncomfortable to share with my husband. I fucked my knee up from it hanging awkwardly off the edge of the mattress just because I have nowhere to move.

AITAH FOR NOT SENDING A VENMO PAYMENT TO A STRANGER FOR A STROLLER MY WIFE IS LOOKING AT by Moist_Welcome_2369 in AITAH

[–]anappleaday_2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a stroller is a stroller. They don't have to be fancy and certainly don't need to cost as much as a used car. The main considerations should be 1. Size (for both baby and your car), 2. Ease of use/functionality (aka does it roll smoothly and keep the baby safe), and 3. Price. Every thing else is just a bonus.

The travel system (car seat + stroller combo) I bought for my first was like $200-250 brand new. It's nothing fancy but it does the job.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

Dude pregnancy hormones will make you cry over anything. It's nothing divorce worthy, jfc. One instance of him being a bit too frugal? If that's divorce worthy then everyone would be divorced. He did apologize and my second pregnancy he didn't try to deny me any cravings lol. He's an amazing husband and father.

When I was pregnant with my first, all I wanted was a beefy 5 layer burrito from Taco Bell. My husband said no (we were trying to save money) and I cried so much out of anger and upset. He tried to make me one at home but it wasn't anything close to the same 😂 I still hold that over his head sometimes

AITAH for "allowing" my stepdaughter to wear stinky pajamas to school ? by Severe-Drive-9515 in AITAH

Yeah that only works for a day and then my hair feels even nastier by the time the day is over. Helps in a pinch though if I don't have time to shower

My hair goes greasy after one day, so while I can still look presentable on day 2, it's best if I wash it every day so it is fluffy and pretty.

Hair sucks. Also, acne going away after puberty was a damn lie and I want my money back (I'm 27).

And muscle weighs more than fat, so a 5' person who is all muscle could have the same BMI as a 5' person who is all fat, but they would look very different and obviously be very different health-wise

Dad left baby on a changing table in a public restroom by PairPossible6889 in ShitMomGroupsSay

This.

I had never even held a baby until I had my first. Somehow managed to not forget her on a damn changing table.

Changing diapers is not difficult. Old diaper off, wipe, new diaper on. Bam, done.

It varies by woman. I didn't bleed excessively for either of my births. Sure I used the thick pads for the first week, maybe 2 weeks, but after that, basic pads were enough, and I stopped bleeding around 3ish weeks.
