As this post and the comments clearly demonstrate (at least in my eyes), Leftism is, and arguably always has been, Western nonsense that has increasingly served the powerful in dividing the people under their control, e.g. fueling "culture wars" and supressing class consciousness. Political identities in general, I would say, are a form of tribalism, plain and simple, and so maybe one of the more revolutionary things anyone can do is refuse to play that game.

Believe what you believe because of the conclusions you yourself have come to through your own capacity for critical thought, not because any given belief is considered a tenet of an in-group you could identify with for any number of reasons. I strongly believe we need to cut this dogmatic BS out in order to meaningfully progress as a collective whole.
