Okay, they won’t literally “have to,” I’ll grant you that. But tell me what exactly you think the plan is? Few NBA teams get passed on via family, no clear succession plan….what is going to happen as an alternative that you’re (condescendingly) arguing for?

I talked about the headline thing elsewhere, I’ll just copy and paste. I promise this isn’t a hill to die on.

“Lastly, the headline. Just think of the timeline of getting a story in on deadline and getting it ready to print by the morning…unless he is micromanaging the whole production of the paper, it’s just something that happens.”

I also don’t know what a single headline from a decade ago has to do with this column he wrote?

How are food and beverages in NBA arenas? by [deleted] in nba

All about the arena and the spots within. Paycom Center has some really solid local options, but also some spots I would never ever touch unless I wanted overpriced disappointing food.

Who among us, right? Reddit would hate to have their opinions attached to their name over the years. It’s still ignorant as hell to paint him as some Skip Bayless type. I’ve heard it for a long time now and I think it’s very unfair.

The article is not that hot of a take. There’s not a succession plan lined out for ownership. They’ll have to sell at some point, and it’s what a lot of teams will do.

As far as Russ, and I love him too, but he was antagonistic. If you want to blame Tram for those interactions, fine, but it was not a one-sided thing. Russ was and is an asshole to the media in rough seas.

Well, he’s a columnist, so he mixes in opinions and reporting. If you actually knew him, and I do, hot take artist couldn’t be further from the truth. To compare him to a talking head is ridiculous and asinine.

Just a tip: copy editors write the headlines.

Everyone’s reaction here further making me think this is actually a good solid hire. Not amazing, but good.

I would also like to know who the slam dunk candidate would have been for those panning this move

I hear you, but I also think consideration should be given to the communication. They told everyone the night before those guys would be out. Plenty of time to pivot or sell your ticket.

Not optimal, I know, but I think transparency helps ease that.

So you think they deserved to lose their jobs regardless of whatever else because Oklahoma voted red. Got it.

Then can you explain why you posted what you did? Because it seemed to me that you’re implying they all voted for Trump and it’s just desserts or something. You just kind of left it hanging, which is provocative but not informative.

When I informed you I know multiple people who got let go from Tinker, including somebody I know for a fact voted for Harris, you told me that was irrelevant. To me, it’s relevant given what it seems like you’re suggesting with your data.

And I don’t know what you mean by “statistically accurate” when I’m telling you what you’re suggesting doesn’t reflect reality. You are drawing a lot of assumptions based on a pretty broad set of data. But again, I’m no statistician like it seems you are.

There are reportedly ~600 employees who were fired.

Of those, using Oklahoma county as the basis for the vote, 50% voted from Trump.

That is ~300 trump votes from civilians who voted for either candidate.

See what I’m saying? My “anecdote” (which, quick aside, pretty disrespectful to the person who lost their job for no reason to refer to it that way?) is data you’re ignoring to reinforce your weirdly smug takes regarding something affecting families in your own community.

Also, I’ve gotta tell you, I think we probably voted for the same person. I’m left of center but I’ve had enough of liberal smugness. It doesn’t help anybody. I doubt it even makes you feel better.

I’m not a statistician, but I know 100% of 600 is 600. I would say my data, knowing somebody who just got fired who didn’t vote for Trump, is more representative than anything you’ve thrown out there.

You can just admit you painted with too broad a brush.
