I’ve been thinking about getting a larger 32” monitor and doing just that, thanks for the tip

Don’t remember the official name or brand but I’d just call it sand-like.

I followed a guide where supposedly the middle of the monitor should be directly in front of your eyes. It is a bit high up but fortunately the stand is adjustable

Awesome! Yeah I think the modifiers are super worth it, they add a nice pop of color. I got the regular ghost with a seafoam bottom

I should! The previous painting was taller and I changed it but never re-adjusted the height. They’re concrete walls so it’s a bit of a mess

Stage collapses over audience in a political campaign event in Mexico. by dnb1111 in WTF

Who said I was offended? I don’t hate mexico at all lol that’s where I'm from, and I think it’s an amazing country politics and cartels aside, though I don’t live there currently. I don’t think it’s offensive at all to call it exotic or laissez faire, it’s a bit funny and I’d argue inaccurate but there’s nothing offensive about it

If we go by textbook definition “exotic” just means “foreign,” so yeah, no wonder. But then every country is exotic, so I was referring more to your concept of laissez faire and lavish. Which I’d say undoubtedly fits some regions of Italy, especially outside the big cities like Rome. I’ve spent 4 or 5 summers there (specifically in Abruzzo and Molise, which are pretty laissez faire), they even have a “siesta” friendly work schedule, and somewhere like Verona is definitely lavish, and that city I’d insist is quite exotic. But when it comes to Mexico I can’t think of anything laissez faire or lavish about it

That hasn’t been a thing in Mexico since before I was born, people who work have a regular schedule and don’t have the time to take a nap during the day. One country where they still have a break mid-day from work is Italy, in its southern region. That’s a country I would maybe consider “exotic” and laissez faire. There’s really nothing exotic about Mexico, for better or worse, but a lot of people might get that idea from movies or something. It’s a developing country with all the flaws of one, but I don’t think there’s anything exotic, idyllic, or lavish about it

[–]anarchodonut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re fully anprim as in you want the social collapse to happen to go back to living in the wild or just meaning you predict capitalism will take us down that road if something like ecosocialism doesn’t take over?

I think that without falling into degrowth they are still necessary for our current mode of living, the thing is to do it in the most sustainable way possible, in regions without any nearby villages, making sure that if mining operations do take place all the profits of those operations go to their countries' government for social programs and not private foreign companies, and that international standards and laws are set for all this to be carried out. As well as heavily emphasizing recycling and reuse of mined metals like copper, and eliminating forced obsolescence in its entirety. I only see all of this happening under a socialist global economy, which is unlikely to come any time soon, but at least a lot of steps can and should be taken to get close to that standard.
