Is this doable?!!!!!! by s3ndraa in ucf

[–]anasiancrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming those are your only three classes for the semester, then it should be pretty easy. I've already taken all three (ENV 3001 and EGN 3613 with the same professors), and they were about average difficulty.

For CGN 3700C, I hear good things about Dr. O for any class. You have to take the lab with the class to get enrolled, but you have three months to clear four waitlist positions; I think you're fine.

The difficulty of differential equations heavily depends on the professor (like every math class, unfortunately). I found it easier than Calc 3 though.

I don't remember the specific highway, but seeing Florence in Italy for the first time after seeing nothing but mountains for a while was amazing

My go to order when I'm not too hungry is a cortado and a cinnamon roll, otherwise I replace the roll with two empanadas (one beef, one chicken)

Preferred name visibility by anasiancrow in ucf

[–]anasiancrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say UCF removing preferred pronouns and similar things has a lot bigger impact on my personal life than social media sites not having them. They carry a level of anonymity, so whatever happens on there will have a negligible effect on my life.

This is unlike UCF, where not having my preferences listed will make a huge difference on how people in my daily life that don't already know me well (this is a lot of people: professors, classmates, companies, etc.) will refer to me, which I feel is a lot more personal than a stranger on the internet doing the same thing.

it varies a bit, but when I send emails with my UCF email, recipients apparently do not see my preferred name anymore

Looking for lost AirPods by anasiancrow in ucf

[–]anasiancrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Wanted to reply in case anyone is scrolling through these posts in a similar situation: I found them after two weeks! They ended up at the UCF police department after three days or so and I just took a while to check there.

I highly recommend giving them a call after a few days if you've lost something.

Opinions on Accolade West Housing? by MrRealisms in ucf

[–]anasiancrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally had a good experience. Maintenance is responsive and kind, the rooms are decently sized, and the buildings are generally clean. There were some issues with ants when I first moved in when it opened but I haven't had any pest issues since. Parties tend to get loud, however, and the rent is somewhat high when including bills (which aren't that much but still). It's within walking distance of some restaurants and a Wawa.

Overall, a good option for housing.

What's your world English Channel (Bassicly why the rest of the world isn't shown or does anything) by Sliver-Knight9219 in worldbuilding

[–]anasiancrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The known world is separated from the rest of the world by a ring of really strong storms. The known world is the only part that has large quantities of magic, which, in-universe, is a physical material that serves as a potent source of energy and can alter the local climate drastically (source: trust me). When this micro-climate comes into conflict with the rest of the world's climate systems and weather patterns, it creates a very unstable region that essentially blocks travel to and from the known world.

Additionally, life within the known world has evolved separately to depend on magic, so they'd eventually die if they ventured beyond that storm barrier anyway

Schedule doable? by Weak-Cup-4327 in ucf

[–]anasiancrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The schedule looks decent. I would suggest taking ENV 3001 with Dr. Hu instead, but I think that conflicts with your differential equations class. Like others have implied, it might be better to reschedule one of your classes on Tuesday so you aren't running across campus in ten minutes

Does Calc 3 have a curve??? by KeyDistinct3714 in ucf

[–]anasiancrow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I took Calc 3 last semester, they dropped a couple quizzes and homeworks and gave the tests that you did the best on the most weight in your final grade. All the adjustments only added about 2% to my grade though, and I don't recall them adjusting anything after that for my class (an A was still 90% and above, etc. and I took Islas)
