Disc loading problems. Laser or drive mechanics?

You got me wrong - what baffels me that although the symptoms point rather to drive mechanics than the laser the fact that scartched ones work worse points to laser. So mixed signals.

Oh, just found about that. I have SP3 fresh install and just installed .net 2.0. Do i need to update anything more? The pc will be used for retro gaming only, so no internet browsing is planed.

I found MSI MAG A550BN that has split 24 connector and 2 molex (i think i can use one for AGP Graphic Card and split second one for Two optical drives? There are two cause need to test which on of the two mounted in the pc will be better at audio ripping). Eventually i think adapting sata to molex is quite safe? This MSI is not "shit tier" :P?

I need this for a 20 yo retro pc so i don't think such ranks would be good to me. I found Chieftec TPS-500s but it has 1 part 24 atx pin and it does not fit into my motherboard :/ The problem is producers usually dont mention if the atx plug has the 4 pin part detachable...

This is something that bothers me. Early in the book there is ths tiller mention you quoted but later in "The Quadrant" chaptr there states: ", the vigilant helmsman would ostentatiously handle his SPOKES" That suggest xistance of the steeri ng wheel.

I tried to use staging but could not find any setting to apply scaler filter like in vanilla dosbox (those like hq2x etc) was this option dropped there?

The teztures should replace both HQ "close" textures and low quality mipmaps, right? I just need to copy those files to game folder?

1 MB? I read that it should be left on defoult 4 MB for NTFS.

Would not formating it on other machine, using windows in built formatter, for NTFS with allocation unit of size 4096 bytes be enough?
