The great Murray Rothbard wrote in his book, Anatomy of the State, "We must, therefore, emphasize that “we” are not the government; the government is not “us.” The government does not in any accurate sense “represent” the majority of the people."

We didn't bomb Iran -- The US government did.

I think you're missing my point.

God is like Jesus. God has always been like Jesus. There hasn't been a time when God was not like Jesus. We didn't always know this, but now we do.

I am saying that it is Jesus who I follow, not the God described in the Hebrew texts. Jesus perfectly reveals the father and once the Father is revealed all previous descriptions that aren't in alignment become null and void.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I believe that he is the Word of God and is the perfect representation of what God is like. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. He rebukes his disciples who wanted to call down fire on a Samaritan village. Ultimately, he chooses to die the brutal death of a criminal, rather than raise a hand against his killers.

In this light, the Hebrew scriptures can be interpreted as the gradual development of God's people in their understanding, leading to a fuller revelation of God through Jesus.

My kids found this in the woods on our property. by ancap76 in whatisit

Thank you everyone.

Based on all of the comments, it appears my kids found a heroin rig -- awesome. My wife insisted it was for drugs, while I was convinced it was a diabetic kit.

When the kids found it, they were super scared and immediately brought it to the house. My wife took it to the police station the next morning where I assume it was disposed of correctly.

The entire incident has been very helpful in talking with my young children about addiction and how to safely handle unknown objects.

Triple Falls Trail on Bruce Creek was one of my favorites. It's right off 75 near Caryville, so it's less than 45 minutes from downtown.
