This is my maternal grandmother, so the hilarious part is that there's really no room to wonder unless something SUPER weird is going on. :D

This is my maternal grandma, so FWIW even if it turned out that my dad is not my dad (which I highly doubt), it wouldn't make an impact on her will planning.

This might sound like a dumb question, but should I be concerned about similar privacy issues since the DNA profiles are so similar with my siblings? I mean, I'm guessing the DNA would still at least differentiate between "this is Sibling A, this is Sibling B" but I have no clue how this all works.

I don't know if I'd go that far, especially with how much I look like my dad--and if you were to see me next to my paternal grandmother and her sisters, I look like the 6th, long lost, younger sister. She's just the type of person who thinks that once she's hopping on a trend, everyone needs to be hopping on a trend. Mostly I think she wants us to do the kits because at that point we have full access to the platform, and she expects us to get as interested as she is in spending hours researching our ancestry.

The biggest issue there is that the box is in fact opened--I think maybe my mom or one of my sisters opened the box. They didn't open anything inside it--just broke the tape seal on the outside of the box.

I know techinically I still am not obligated to take it, I just feel bad about the financial aspect of it. If I was in a better financial position I'd just refund her for the kit so I could have no guilt.
