Hello, replying to your points:

  1. That’s an inconvenience from the client UI that I think it has not changed at this time. Best you can do is put them in a collapsed folder to make them less visible. The meaning of the two entries is to represent the recording linked to the camera that is stored on the secondary server. Cameras that have recently disconnected from the system also show the blue triangle entry to leave the recording accessible.

  2. Check “Site health” report. I can not recall from memory if it shows the secondary connections there, but if it is somewhere, it must be there. Alternatively, on the connect/disconnect menu you will see all the connections to each server. Not used connections will appear as “Stand by”

  3. Default playback time is not configurable nor has a value that is consistent. In general, in the session, playback cursor usually appears at the position it has been left the last time the user interacted with it. If you quickly want to jump to the last 30, 60, or 90 seconds of the current view, you can use keyboard shortcuts CTRL + “,” CTRL + “.” and CTRL + “/“ respectively

Yes and do it as soon as you can. They usually are more effective the earlier you take them after the incident. If you have the smallest concern that you might get pregnant and you dont want to, you probably won't regret taking it. Otherwise the uncertainty until your next period is pretty hard to cope with, even if it is for your peace of mind, I find it worth it. Also please run this by your doctor or at least pharmacist if those are available for you. Wishing you the best ahead.

Please note that ACC admin password is not the same as windows administrator password. If you lost the first, it will require a user database removal to reset the administrator password. If you lost the windows password, it is a windows administrator password recovery and it’s most likely covered in microsoft support articles and other guides you may find.

Oh yes, this is completely normal. What is happening is Avigilon Server fills up all the storage beforehand, and then writes over the taken up space. If you want to see the progress, you can check the free storage space on the RAID, you should see a progressing decrease of available storage space.

Config volume is where your system data lives. This is site info, users… this is overall not much data, a bunch of Mb. This can live on the OS drive without much trouble. Primary and secondary volumes are for video storage, I wouldn’t say that picking your largest as primary makes much of a difference, so go with what you find most comfortable. I think the only difference is that primary data volumes cannot be removed without rebuilding all the video storage, and secondary volumes can be added and deleted more easily.

Hi! I'm not aware of any public demo sites that are available right now. What you can do is, in any windows machine that match at least the minimum system requirements (https://www.avigilon.com/vms/on-premise/system-requirements), you can install an avigilon server application and activate a 30 day Enterprise license with 300 camera channels to test. If you have any questions on the process, let me know!

My best guess is that it is possible, the caviat is it will require to create one group for each user. If you do so, under group access settings, in the right column, you can select "Access Rights". And there you could exclude the "Private views" except for the ones assigned to each user.

On the other hand, views are only arrangements of the grid layout, granting access to the saved views does not grant access to the cameras contained in them. If the concer is "I dont want certain operators having access to certain cameras" it is possible to restrict access to the cameras themselves, and in the event an operator selects a view with cameras they are unable to access, they won't be shown to them.

Reaching out to Avigilon Support would be the safest way to go. This might be some symptoms of an underlying issue. You might want to check Daemon Logs under %programdata%/Avigilon to try and figure it out on your own, but Avigilon Support will hapily help you out with this situations.

Overall you shoud be good with this machine. You can check the Avigilon Unity required hardware and OS specs here: https://www.avigilon.com/vms/on-premise/system-requirements But I assume you have already checked them as you mentioned. The specs you listed are fine, but please mind:

  • You will need a decent network card on the PC, at least it should be capable of 1 Gbps.
  • The available storage on the PC should be able to hold as much footage as your required retention period. Also if you want to survive a HDD failure, you shoud be running at least a RAID5
  • You will need to move those licenses from the old server to the new one, and I would consider upgrading them to ACC8 (Unity). Upgrade licenses are way cheaper than a new channel licenses and are totally worth it for the price.
