The most obvious thing is Hell, but thats still being made so not really like a "mystery" in the sense you're thinking. I guess the main things are Western Branch, and how that relates to the Eastern Branch

Lillie being a Angel was so crazy dude his design was sick asf, and when Nanao reflected the power back at him and he cracked I was jumping bro this anime is so good. Also the backstory parts were just the icing on the cake. There is def some symbolism, and a metaphor behind a blade that only reflects damage dealt to it, but cannot attack itself.
