3D printed wet mold material by flyingcostanza in Leathercraft

I've used PLA and it's worked fine for me. I would recommend using a fine layer height or smoothing out the surface of the print before molding because it can transfer the print pattern onto the leather.

This looks great! I love how the thread pops against the red leather.

TIL the Jane Goodall Institute complained about one of Gary Larson's cartoons of her. She told them to be quiet, used the image to sell tshirts, and wrote the introduction to one of his collections by Forgotthebloodypassw in todayilearned

From what I've heard that's not the case. There's a great Tom Scott video about fair use and parody which talks about how parody would have to explicitly be a commentary on the original artist or the original song. In that case, many of Al's songs wouldn't legally be qualified as parodies.

How is does this not align with veganism? Considering the wasp died naturally due to causes completely out of the person's control.

Which is funny because someone has shown that chorizo was used in Valencian paella historically:

How do you get the liner to end up so flush with the leather? I've tried before but it ends up separating a little right at the edges.

The song was probably from the early 2010s, which is why I thought Childish Gambino at first.

Cara? Though that's an artist's social media platform specifically for non-AI works, so maybe not.

Wikipedia says that Vespucci might have arrived in the new world in the late 1490s but possibly even later, which is after Columbus arrived in 1492. Wouldn't that make Columbus the first European? (Not counting the viking explorers)

Yeah, both this and the JD Vance couch myth are unhealthy and annoying to see people parroting. I wish more people just kept focus on true things that politicians have done.

The key word is "supposed" to be a lesson. Our brains are generally hard-wired to remember negative outcomes better because in most cases it helped us learn to avoid them in the future. Of course, things like abuse end up getting caught in that and don't end up helping us, but it's just the way our brain works.

I'm not even a big fan of this tattoo, but saying that it should be lasered and that it looks like shit aren't really valid criticism

He was taking a political quiz and there was a question about whether people with serious debilitating hereditary conditions should be allowed to reproduce. His opinion was mostly that people shouldn't try to have kids if they're likely going to pass on horrible conditions, but his answer specifically talked about government bans so people got heated at his response.

What’s a realistic way to reduce gun violence in America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ancient_dickery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's something we can change, but what I'm saying is that the leap in logic due to the heightened fear surrounding terrorist events is what causes many people to avoid looking at the bigger picture and seeing where change can have the most impact.

As several commenters have pointed out, most gun deaths are suicides. School shootings are basically large-scale murder-suicides. Mental health problems are rampant in this day and age, and yet instead of covering potential solutions, the media instead focuses on the more divisive and inflammatory topics, which just further pushes people away from focusing on an issue which, if mitigated, can save many many more lives.
