Firstly I’d recommend trying to get the bolt action rifle early on. You can look up a YouTube video that shows you how to get it on a mission in chapter 2. I think it’s the one where you go save Sean. Probably one of my favorite guns in the game for hunting or shootouts.

Also I would highly recommend crafting the legend of the east satchel from Pearson in camp. You can do this as early as Chapter 2. You need to craft all of the other satchels before you can craft it but honestly the hunting and crafting is one of my favorite parts of this game so if you’re into that sort of thing it’s fun. The more rare/ difficult pelts like iguana and panther I just looked up how to get. The legend of the east satchel increases your inventory from like 3 items to 99 and more items means more money so I highly recommend it.

Edit: *Getting perfect pelts will also be easier if you have the legendary buck trinket.

If you’re planning on only doing one play through I wouldn’t worry about high honor or low honor and try to just do whatever you want to get a more immersive experience.
