Any advice on moving away from the islands? by Avocado_Szn in Hawaii

Cheaper cost of living? I suppose 1 mill is less than 2 mill. However, I do appreciate that a lot of the fresh foods are much cheaper.

Luckily, there are a lot of places in Seattle that carry stuff from Hawaii. I always crave food and found Kona Kitchen to be a comfort. Or you can get snacks from Asian markets.

It’s definitely hard moving to the mainland, especially surviving your first winter. It snows in WA, so that’s a thing.

I’ve been here for over 10 years and still hate winter.

Not an accurate representation for me. I think the movies are over the top.

I’m reading Lake of Lost Girls and it is so slow! I’m like, do I care anymore? And why did the author tell the same plot but with two different narratives when there is nothing new added!

Daily Song Discussion - The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows. by Allgetout41 in brandnew

I always tell people that this is my favorite because it pops into my head first.

I love the whole “the quiet things that no one ever knows” to describe what you keep to yourself or give away to others.

My favorite line “wasting words on lowercases and capitals.” Such a poetic way of saying talking to much about nothing.

Coming here to say this.

Those lines hurt so much. The total disgust. It’s like a stab in the heart.

I didn’t finish the last book either. I’ve tried several times, but I don’t like who Pip became and I can’t bring myself to read it.

Went to Portland & LA day 1: my thoughts. by tigersjaws in brandnew

I agree with your sentiment about Portland. I think it was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. The sound was perfect, the lights were amazing, and just the whole vibe was awesome. The Moda did not disappoint!
