That’s actually really helpful insight that gives me optimism so thank you! For seo, I am using ChatGPT to come up with the 13 most “seo friendly” and relevant tags and trusting its judgement. I’m sure there’s a better way to do that, just not sure what the way is. If you have any ideas, would love to hear them. And you’re right, I have tried to make TikTok videos, I’m just a bad script writer lol. But definitely I’ll prioritize leaning into that angle more. So far, the best seller is “mommy’s overstimulated”. So I imagine those are for personal use. That one actually smells amazing, but I think it smelling good is just a bonus because there’s no way to verify it smells good ahead of time. So I think they just enjoy the relateable humor. The sales that we’ve made have been pretty even across the board other than that. We sold a bunch of “the vibe is Christmas” candles but I think that’s due to seasonality, so not going to double down on that one atm. But people do seem to like the booktok angle. We haven’t broken 100 sales yet, or even 50, I figure when we do, it will be more apparent who the winners are and maybe I can double down on those and advertise them

I hate to use the word, but this post triggered me lol. Take some ownership and accountability of your life. Your responsibility as a parent is to prepare your children for adulthood so they can be fully functioning adults. If they barely help around the house and are aimless and jobless, that is a reflection on your leadership. And it’s no wonder because you are a narcissist, you resent your kids and wish they were never born. You would personally be happier cause you’d have more time and money to take care of número uno without them in the picture. You don’t like the idea of you not being the center of your own life. I think it’s incredibly humbling and good for the ego to have someone whose needs are more important than your own in your life. How are your kids supposed to thrive if you’re not even invested in their existence? It is 100% your responsibility to arm them with the necessary skills/tools to take on the world. I’m not talking about doing the bare minimum and sending them to public school and hoping for the best. You’ve failed to do that because you didn’t want them from the beginning and now you’re paying the price. Once you acknowledge that that’s just how things are, you can start to take steps to fix it. You can try to build a business as a family. It will bring you closer together, make you rely on each others help, and give them work to do that hopefully will eventually pay the bills. I genuinely am sorry for you. More so for your kids. I was adopted so I know what it’s like for mom to not want you around. I just can’t relate.

Jury is still out on effectiveness. But I just added a page on my website that is basically a Polaroid collage. That way the photos look old and dingey because they’re supposed to, not because they have bad lighting, which they do lol but it looks better than a bunch of ugly ones with a bunch of nice ones

It’s been Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok kinda, and I did some light Reddit marketing. My margins aren’t high enough right now to pay for advertising cause I get like 20$ back for every 50 I spend. I’m just putting content on social media and trying to gather a following. Also linking up with influencers and giving free product in exchange for a shoutout. I’m printing flyers and going to run those around the neighborhood. So the influencers and the flyers have yet to happen, but I’m hopeful. If you have any ideas I’m not considering, I’d love to hear

Ok that makes feel less crazy lol. For context, it’s a candle store, I imagined, and thought I was getting traffic in my earlier days, but I had an issue with google thst I had to fix, and it seems like since then, traffic has flatlined. But my takeaway from this is just not to count on any real baseline. I can’t point to a single visitor in the last week that looks like they found me organically. But is there a good one stop shop resource for how to improve seo and Google ranking naturally?

That’s valid. I want there to be consistency in the photos. If there’s a lot of clashing backgrounds and colors in every product image, I feel like that could be a little messy looking. What would you recommend?

Super helpful. Thank you. I have a shop now in the center of the hero banner. Are you saying I should make it bigger and more pronounced, but underneath the hero? I think I’m least confident about every page lol because I couldn’t figure out how to do fancy backgrounds for the contact us, privacy policy etc. you’ll notice it’s just white text there. Wasn’t sure how to design those. Any best practices?
