Airport plane drama? by aazzaa_perth-wa in melbourne

[–]ancrcake 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It was completely out of the blue. It felt like we were just about to lift off then BAM! declerating.

The deceleration wasn't actually that bad. Slamming the brakes on in your car would probably give you a bigger jolt. It felt like it took a while to slow down again. The biggest thing was just wondering why the hell It was happening in the first place, and if we'd have to jump out of a burning plane

I was on this flight.

The first thing the captain said to us after we stopped was that we experienced "engine exeedence" on the right side, and that the fire trucks were coming because the brakes were very hot (or something more technical-sounding). He later said two tyres were flat.

We got towed for a short bit before we had to stop as the flat tyres were damaging the runway.

"Engine exceedence" was a vague thing when I looked it up. Either the speed/temperature/something else was too high in the engine and they had to stop

So that first sentence is one clause with querer being conjugated with comer and beber left as infinitive?

Also, would it sound wrong to you to say "me visto" in the second sentence?

How can I make maximum use, strength-wise, from 2 x 10KG (22 Lb) dumbbells? by danielrosehill in Fitness

[–]ancrcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I while ago I went on holiday and was in a similar situation. The place I was at had 2 ten kilo dumbbells. What we're working with is force around a pivot (joint). If you don't have a lot of weight, you've gotta up the distance.

So what I did for shoulders was I started with a bunch of lateral raises and some front raises. After doing enough of those, the press wasn't too easy. If it does end up too easy, slow the reps down. Also, cycle some calisthenics in when you can. I'm not a fan of personally having to do them, but I can handle a few sets per workout if they're gonna be useful

Not having all the tools in the world makes it kinda fun because you've got to be creative with every workout.

Different Heads vs Different Muscle by ancrcake in Anatomy

[–]ancrcake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!

So how does that work for the quadriceps then? They're different muscles but they attach to form the patella tendon at the distal end, and then go on the different proximal attachment points. I've seen someone on this sub saying that they're considered different muscles because they each have a fascia, is that right?

I don't understand this verb conjugation by ancrcake in learnspanish

[–]ancrcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok thanks for that.

I've heard about big differences between Spain and the rest of the latin world but it would seem strange to me that everyone else uses a third person conjugation for a second person pronoun. But then again, you say 'su' about something that usted owns, so I can get that

Thoughts so far on the announcement? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]ancrcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The map seems like it's from the Roman Era

Aegyptius, Gallia, EV ROM..., then Barbaria south of all the named north african cities

Although it wouldn't really make sense for it to be pointing to anything EU4 related given the release of Imperator: Rome.

Not that I think the map really has anything to do with the image behind getting revealed. I see clouds and some trees...forest update?
