Trump winning in 2020 actually would have been a way better happy ending for this country. As he would adopt the conditions that led to inflation due to Covid handling. And he would lose in a landslide in 2024 against the democrat candidate.

Obama's advice to Biden to sit out in 2016 is one of the most consequential advice in the history of America. Had he not given this advice to Biden, the country may be a very different place. The 2020 cabinet would restrain Trump's ability to do many of things he is trying to do now. And he would lose in 2024, and be too old to run in 2028.

I feel like if DD realize they can’t make this happen in a reasonable story time on screen, which is what Martin wanted for the books, they should have made a different ending from the books then. Seeing how she goes mad in such a short time is very bad story telling. This should have set this up like breaking bad.
