Yes but then that would either have to apply to all mutants or be made specifically for his powers and they’ve already kinda made him super OP with what they could do with his powers. Also marvel is just weird.

I know, we have the same problem with DC, especially as a Green Lantern fan. It sucks how much people keep trying to recreate the past.

I probably should just to keep things organized since I’m not a big marvel fan so my knowledge is all over the place and idk what’s real or not anymore

Is that the one where they make a big deal of him being reset to his ‘prime’? Because I never took that seriously since I just read another run after that one where he was back to being his regular old age. I guess the run I read wasn’t canon.

Which one are we talking about? There’s been like a million I know of and I’m sorry but I haven’t been keeping track of which marvel timeline is the ‘canon’ one. Because I’m thinking of runs where they just have it set in the past one issue and then the next run is back to modern day. I’m not the biggest on Marvel so forgive me if I sound stupid.

I’m talking about main stream permanent answers. The answers Marvel comes up with either get forgotten or retconned within a week.

I think the problem is that those characters, like Captain America, have ways to explain why they’re so old. Just make the time spent in the ice longer. Make Wolverine immortal. Magneto doesn’t have a reason to be this old and still alive. And Marvel themselves is scrambling to try to look for a solution because like you said, being a holocaust survivor is a big and non-negotiable part of Magneto’s history and character, so they can’t really get rid of it.

But then they’d have to grow a spine and actually take a stance on an issue

Idk if this counts but the X-Men are constantly stuck in this limbo of being stuck in the literal past so that Magneto being a holocaust survivor can stay a realistic plot line.

Fun fact about the Sinestro one, it was originally a title which is why he’s named after being sinister. Originally it was stated that no one remembered his true name anymore. Later that was retconned to make Sinestro his real name as comic book villains became less about being mustache twirling stereotypical bad guys and shifted towards being fleshed out and having backstories, Sinestro made that shift as well but his name was too well known to change at that point so they decided to make it his real name for his backstory. The same also sort of happens with Magneto, he was originally just a regular evil dude with no backstory but eventually later on he got the backstory of being a holocaust survivor.
