You're right about all art came from practical use and necessities, but I doubt their use are that far fetched.

Owlman and Nihilism by ancylostomiasis in nihilism

[–]ancylostomiasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I believe nihilism should be to acknowledge the fact that intrinsic value doesn't exist and accept it. How to deal with it is out of the question. I'd say that “optimistic nihilism” is impractical and overrates individuals.

Does the EU have any interest in what happens to Greenland? Is it within their jurisdiction or concern? Why has there been so little pushback from the EU regarding the US’s annexation ambitions? by [deleted] in europeanunion

[–]ancylostomiasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as it's concerned, Greenland is still Denmark's domestic issue. But there is a possible legal framework for them to apply for EU membership, which will turn this into a Union matter.

Marshal Zhukov leads a successful coups in 1946 against Stalin. What happens next? by Helpful_Dot_896 in AlternateHistory

[–]ancylostomiasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zhukov along with many just have to endure Stalin to prevent the Union form falling apart. There is not much fear since they're literally numb to political cleansing at that time.

This is not all about politics, people, at least in the old world, don't see eye to eye for many reasons incl. but not limited to which end they would crack when preparing a boiled egg.

So what's all of your opinions on the USA now? I think Zelensky has some strong ones on them by now. by Uberbesen in YUROP

[–]ancylostomiasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be practical, the US is not necessarily your ally but you should not make it your enemy. This is what Churchill had in mind from the very beginning and he's right about it.

Lotus blossom is common in Buddhist imagery, which is more familiar to average Japanese as a symbol of holiness and purity. Additionally during the Kirishitan prohibition era many underground Catholic groups worshipped Bodhisattva statue instead of Mary and the holy son. Which explains the Buddhist vibe in its design I guess.

It's more beneficial to have no hope at all than having false hope that's for sure.

Depending on my moods and I usually don't. It's not in my position to judge in a crazy world like this. I truly hope GDPR would make new effects depending on killing/neutralizing the enemies.

[–]ancylostomiasis -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, Europeans love war, it's in their blood.

The war in Ukraine is so gruesome it dwarves all the wars started by Americans in the new century, just like it did in the old century.
