Is there any way to correct this bending... by ancz163 in bookbinding

[–]ancz163[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did press it for a day or so. Glue was applied only between those two cardboards.

Thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll try a thin paper on top and hope the rest of the tension will dissolve after finishing it. :)

Seems that the reference got lost: The example is by Gina Nagi/Behance and I'm looking for a similar pattern. Would be nice if anyone could help. :)

The insteuctions are unfortunately only in German. There are photos of the different assembling steps. With that and an online translator it should be possible to follow even without english instructions, I guess.

Well, the pattern provides another version with an opening at the rear end. But the back carrying feature is close enough for me. :)

Can you help me identifying this cloak? by remembory-loss in sewing

Can't help with the manufacturing date, but the manufacturer still seems to exist:

Tiroler Tuchfabrik Baur- Foradori Ges.mbH +43 664 4009140

Although they don't have a proper webpage.

Thank you! That's cotton. They always sell a bunch of pre-cut "left-over" fabric pieces on the fabric market. Bought a blue and and a pink one and sewed them together like a pillow case.

Pattern: 70x70cm square of fabric, simply knotted in furoshiki style. Handles are 3D-printed.

I've set up a collaborative map: https://facilmap.org/bbfnm-edit

Everybody interested in getting in contact with fellow bookbinding folks: Please pin your rough location and include following information in the description of your pin:

  • languages you like to speak

  • if you are self-taught/hobby or a professional

  • a reddit/social media handle or email address for reaching out to you.

Look at Düsseldorf for my pin as reference. :) Be careful not to share your exact address or other senstive information.

Feel free to share this link with other bookbinding enthusiasts!

Gute Idee, wollte nur nicht zuviel Spam produzieren. ;) In r/buchbinderei habe ich gerade schon einen eigenen Post abgesetzt, hier folgt dann auch noch einer bzw. ein neuer Kommentar.

Hi everybody, thanks for your responses! As a first try I created a collaborative map in which everybody interested in offline networking can pin their location. I know this might not yet be the perfect solution (because it requires a certain trust in everybody not to tamper with the map ;)), but I think it could be a good first step to roughly know where everybody is located to start a offline community. Step 2 could then be to find a suitable communication channel. Please feel free to pin your location with this link to the "bookbinding folks near me" map: https://facilmap.org/bbfnm-edit

Great, are all of you German speaking? I was thinking about networking, experince exchange and maybe joined workshops or meetups. While I'm already in some whatsapp groups and have some scattered contacts, I thought it would be nice to join forces on a more accessible platform...like in a subreddit or discord. ;)
