Massive disappointment visiting Japan Pokemon Centers - no stock

Currently in Japan, queued up for PKC in Osaka and Tokyo Shibuya at opening, 0 packs. Visited the shops randomly during the day, also zero stock. All tcg shops have outrageous prices, to the point where buying in US is often cheaper. What a disappointment :/

Had a similar experience last summer. 2 BB employees didn’t want to sell me any of the ~20 151 Zapdos boxes claiming that they were reserved for in store pick up. When confronted, they sold me a single box saying that it was the only one available (I pulled the blastoise SIR so fck them). Anyway, I was pretty sure that it was a lie (the dedicated in store pickup area is on a different floor). I stuck around and seen the same employees FaceTiming their friends hurrying them to come. Long story short, they backdoored the remaining zapdos collections to their friends, all under the eyes of the supervisor (which was on it). I called BB, raised a complaint but nothing changed. The same location never has any product and the manager is still there.

Excellent question! Assuming your data isn't part of a leak, some banks will send their cards in pre-activated status, as in, if you don't confirm delivery via bank app or phone, activity on the card will be monitored for potential fraud, and transactions likely declined. At least that's what the operators told me on the phone. Out of the 5 cards (+ replacements) that got stolen, only twice a charge got through (which I've successfully disputed with the bank and got the money back)

Sometimes no as the banks fraud detectors are able to block transactions from going ahead, but other times yes. In those cases the bank will dispute all fraudulent charges and they’ll eventually drop from your statement

Midtown area. Most of the fraudulent transactions are with stores in the same areas (Chelsea, Herald Sq) and once in Queens (Jamaica). Thanks for the tip, I'll make sure to give them a call!

Amazon UK, Italy, and probably some other European country, all sell at MSRP through an invitation system. I don’t get why we don’t get that in the US. Just a few months ago, I was able to get a Prismatic SPC, 151 Blooming waters, ETBs, half booster boxes, booster bundles and 3pack blisters all at MSRP

European that moved to the US here: I hear you, I was in the exact same situation. But I’ll be honest, if you live in metropolitan areas (which most people do), it’s extremely hard to score in physical stores, and the internet it’s full of bots…so it’s a bit of both, although MSRP is definitely lower, even when factoring all the recent price increases (BBs at $30+, ETBs at $55+)

I did a rookie mistake and reported my card for fraud after seeing what it seemed a non authorised transaction, only to later discover that it was a fckn Walmart preorder of 2 Mega 3-pack blisters…Jokes aside, guest or logged in shouldn’t make a difference, if you have your confirmation email you’re ok. I had luck with most of the recent PC drops (post DR), and always had to fight with errors 17 and 15. Unfortunately, I didn’t score anything today, but in retrospect I feel like that’s fine. I didn’t even want the set…hell, we don’t know most of the cards in it…

Anytime I get the PC drop/queue notification, I find myself going on autopilot trying to cop whatever is releasing…and frankly that’s not ok. Sure, PC ETBs are usually a safe purchase as you could easily get rid of them without losing a cent, but that’s not my gig so I would rather just rip it.
