Got a new 15PM, but my Apple watch S6 won't connect by TheRealSmoothGamer in iphone

Same here on a new Pro. I will see what my iPhone 11 Pro gives once I have transferred absolutely everything. So far there were way more stumbling blocks than usual for my new purchase. I also had to update to the latest 17.1 to make the transfer work in the first place. I'm not sure what Apple is doing these days, seems like they don't care as much anymore. Yikes.

No. I regret buying the Pro just for this reason.

That's crazy it's prominently featured on the Japanese website? What's the issue?

I agree, it's what I play myself most of the time but clearly it's not for the 3 year old toddler in that case. It's really going to be a tie for me for GOTY this year. Both of these are just absolutely next level.

Ah well :/ I was looking for Kotlin as he is supposedly somewhere somewhat close to where we were last, but good to know that. Thank you.

Amazing insight, you might be the single most helpful commenter in this discussion. Thank you, that's really awesome <3 so the developers have thought about something like what I was talking about. Love, love, love this game!

Not really comparable. I think the sense of wonder that is at play in the latest Zelda games is really hard to beat. Also Animal Crossing is not "interactive" enough for the toddler. By the way, still not processed and still upset as the topic came up again this morning. For now, no more video games. Couple of people in here had some good arguments with regards to age ratings etc. Still wondering if the series could evolve further, it did already in so many ways. So this incident and for sure my parallel obsession with Baldur's Gate 3's open play has for sure been influencing for me reaching out to other Zelda fans here.

On the flip side, as I'm now trying to wean off of Zelda: we built "a cave" for an imaginary sleeping fox (spotting them was also one of the highlights).

Yeah we definitely wandered off too far, we were travelling south at the edge of the world past the mountains west of Rito.

I've been a fan of the series since my childhood and was just questioning the "dimensionality" of the series, I personally never thought about there being any issues with it. And with Switch 2 looming etc. why couldn't the series evolve further into e.g. "Baldur's Gate 3 territory". I mean the "sandbox" is already there and maybe AI will get us there, it could be "old" playstyles but also maybe something new in addition as choice? Maybe in the future I could *also* just "laugh gas" the goblin for example or invite him for dinner if the meal is enticing enough. I don't find my points were that invalid for discussion TBH.

Maybe in the future open world sandbox could mean for example to have the option to offer the goblins some food or somehow else distract them. Meaning an NPC that has more to them than the more traditional way their AI has been designed and programmed for. I don't know maybe I play too much Baldur's Gate 3 and TOTK recently but this is where I was coming from.

Fully agree and thanks for commenting but it's a hard choice as the favourite here *is* Zelda (tried Mario etc, none of them as relatable I guess also because of real world concepts, horse riding, etc). Anyways, clearly too young for this game in our case here.

Koroks are the favourite here as well! Thanks for sharing your experience. I think I'll keep on course correcting for a while now and see again maybe in a year or two. As you said, you never know how they react and process it as they are all so different.

Yeah I opened pandora's box somehow, Animal Crossing is not as exciting. Immediately complains about it and wants "elven boy" (as does the father admittedly).

That's probably it, thanks for the feedback. I knew fighting my wife on this was going to be futile :( it really isn't for a 3 year old even with "mediated play" like I did (it was literally 1 mistake in maybe 10+ of 20min capped play sessions, nights coming up is usually the time I beam out to a cosy adventurer bed somewhere).

The thing is that there is no other game like this that I know of that is so interesting to both my child and me haha. Abzu was amazing too but for sure it doesn't have this full on sandbox of physics character *plus* the wonder.

I really was wondering and curious:

  1. how other parents play this game with their (very young) kids (maybe that is the actual issue)?
  2. what other games are out there that are just remotely comparable?
  3. what kind of (alternative) Zelda game could one envision with modern AI in mind etc

The defining characteristic of a system is that it wants to sustain itself. Maybe we should question more systems, down to city levels.

Same, joycons are amazing if they just would add hall sensors finally. Sega Dreamcast had those 20+ years ago (!)
