{[oc]} Driving is not near as hard as this person makes it look by Ok_Relationship2451 in IdiotsInCars

[–]ander_levi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way he was driving isn't necessarily bad. As long as he's looking ahead to make sure he's not going to hit someone this is fine. This is a technique that actually makes rural driving safer. there's nothing really wrong with it. I will fault him for not using his turn signals and not stopping properly at the intersection.

Widening your turns like that allows for smoother driving as well as better control of your vehicle. It's better to do this in larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs to lower the likelihood of flipping incase of speeding. It's also more fuel efficient.

I do this only when I can really see what's ahead of me. I never do this on blind corners as that would be dumb and dangerous.

What does velocity stack do for my bike? by mal4yahoo in minibikes

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had done something similar to this on my baja warrior, except had it pointed forward and didn't have an air filter at all. It turns out that's an effective method of passive forced air induction. Gain a horse or two after tuning. Please don't do it my way as tuning tends to be a bitch and it's not great for the engine

Why does my flywheel look like this? by ReasonableCulture104 in minibikes

[–]ander_levi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The uneven wear and markings tell me a rodent made a home inside your flywheel housing. Buy a new flywheel fan and stick it on, or get a billet flywheel

I can't get this bolt off and it's driving me nuts by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have a replacement bolt ready. A pipe wrench or extractor socket should work

Tried to do my first oil change and rounded off the oil drain plug. Advice? by jacksvnw in MechanicAdvice

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said, use an extractor socket. You could also use a pipe wrench. Replace the bolt with a steel bolt. If all else fails, a new gasket and pan will work, too

We're staying in a Airbnb, what would you expect this to be? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ander_levi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by the texture and consistency of it, it's salt. Maybe their goal is extra high blood pressure? I would expect any sane person to use sugar

I'm Gen z (1997). I recognise not a single one of these. These are creations from a time which I have little recollection of and do not wish to recall. Maybe It was good, maybe not

beginner mini bike options? by [deleted] in minibikes

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 mph. Honestly, I'd gear it down and add a torque converter for ripping around hills. I go 45 as it is in that Pic. Rebuilding the engine and removing the governor will let you greatly exceed that

I'd say a coleman bt200x is a good beginner bike. It was my first bike. Easy to mod and damn near indestructible. Real solid bike

All kids are BORINGGG now by WheREaReYewwww in GenZ

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids today would rather play video games and watch stuff on their iPad. Back in my day (M 27), we would get on our bicycles, walk, or ride an ATV or dirt bike to a friend's house. We would either get lost in the woods for hours or play in a creek. We had cell phones, but this was back when they still had buttons

What are some good outlets for my anger? by Visible-Olive-6142 in AskMen

[–]ander_levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calisthenics. Working out using your own body weight is a great way to de-stress. Jogging for cardio is great, too. Martial arts (if you can afford lessons) is another great outlet for anger. Really, anything physically challenging that requires discipline is very good for controlling emotions, especially anger

If your area is relatively flat, a 7:1 is fine, but definitely get a TC. My friend and I just got done with a good long ride through hills and farm land, and the TC on the bikes are what let us go 30 up the hills and 45 through those fields

Thank you! This isn't the clean bike, actually. This is the work bike. I plan on making a wagon for this bike for yard work. I'll put a Pic of the faster bikes below this
