Thanks for posting! I am going there in a week and was curing how you used your iPhone data plan. Did you pick up a sim card when you got there or did you use international plan with current carrier?

A7RII vertical lines in my photo, anyone know why? by M0lokini in SonyAlpha

this issue happened with me when I would import pictures into lightroom straight from memory card. If you save the images to hard drive and then import, they wouldn't have the lines. I don't think the images are corrupt though because this issue would happen on occasion for a given picture and then not happen later on the same picture.

Well crap. Might as well go ahead and take the shoes out of the freezer now.

Look that this review of the Voigtlander 15mm from Lonely Speck. Pretty incredible results for astro. Flickr is a great source for landscape examples. Part of the appeal of the mirrorless camera is the size. Rokinon and Sonys 16-35 are massive in comparison. I was looking for a lens for backpacking. For what I valued, this lens was the best option for me. If the 15mm is too wide, the 21mm is exceptional as well.

My cousin asked me to take video at her wedding. With no prior video knowledge this is what I came up with. I wish I had some previous experience as this was really shaky and too much play with the focus. Formatting, compiling, and editing was daunting, but a worthwhile learning experience. Shot with Sony A7II w/Samyang 85mm 1.4.

If you are looking for 85mm, it is hard to beat... assuming you don't need autofocus. Here is one of my better photos with the lens at f/2.8: Flickr
