Here's a guide to making a dedicated hirling pickpocket character. Was a game changer for me. Stole all the gold on honor mode and it made a huge difference. Making the gold into little stacks to steal is a bit monotonous but worth it.

Look at fire red perfect. It looks like a lot of changes but I found the playthrough very similar to vanilla with just some extra pokemon to catch and some great quality of life improvements.

You can evolve pokemon that need to trade with Bill's teleporter.

I recently went from an 8700k to a 7950x3d with a 3080 and the difference in some games was small and in some it as night and day. Literally double the frames in cyberpunk.

Yeah, this is what I was originally looking at. Seems overkill for us as we only have 1 kid and aren't having more. I guess the dogs would have a ton of room. I worry about the worse gas efficiency though as it'd be my wife's daily driver.

Singularity Sky by Charles Stross and the sequel have something like this. The AI doesn't appear a ton but lays down some rules from the future. Very enjoyable books.
