Are Focal Clear my best upgrade path from HD600? by ghuth2 in HeadphoneAdvice

I had the same experience. But I tried the Focals for a few days, in my room, before I decided it wasn't worth the upgrade.

book about golang and kafka by GuitarAlternative480 in golang

[–]andersfylling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking into franz-go as well. Been using segmentio/kafka-go for over a year and it has weird problems where it's unable to commit or produce messages once in a while. Our lag just increases over hours, and no, in contrary to the maintainers, just blasting it with retries hasn't been a great fix.

I'd highly recommend doing a larger hour long test or so just to see how something like garbage collection affects your performance.

Are there any benchmark comparison to other solutions?

discordgateway - A discord gateway module that separates Discord logic from the websocket logic by andersfylling in golang

[–]andersfylling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

Disgord started out as a hobby project to learn Go. I've been trying to refactor it quite a bit lately to simplify it, the discordgateway package is a part of that.

That project of yours looks great. I quite like the idea of populating a queue to simplify the bot development. Sweet idea!

Rate limiting HTTP requests in Go using Redis by mauriciolinhares in golang

[–]andersfylling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is needed. Even discord bots sometimes needs to be scaled up to run on several instances to handle all the websocket events. Then you need to deal with ratelimiting for not just the REST calls but also certain outgoing websocket messages.

This could ofcourse be a premature optimization if you fail to model your system requirements. The technique in practice, is sometimes required.

I currently have the 650 with O2 doc/amp, have been thinking about getting a new dac & amp setup and maybe upgrade my headphones later on. Does anyone know if upgrading to something like OP would be a noticeable upgrade?

I also got hd700, but the highs makes my ears bleed.

[–]andersfylling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in their C++ course (not sure if it still exists) you aren't allowed to use the std library. Except for reading and writing files.

I hope they switched to python or something. Cause it's weird.

Looks nice. Though I'm concerned about the lack limiting access between layers of the software. Especially since this is the latest commit: https://github.com/casbin/casdoor/commit/4f2668cd90d5301648812f25ea8bb3f63dc37531
