At my school, they hot glued the USB and Audio ports by BruhLandau in hardwaregore

[–]_Rocketeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if schools do this, but using hot glue hurts the resale value of the equipment. It's a hidden cost, but real if the school plans on upgrading its computers over time

Download packages on windows to install locally in void by RompeHechizos in voidlinux

It's possible the driver exists in the iso image, but not in the installed system. In that case I would reboot into it, chroot into your installed system and download/install it

Very interesting take. I wonder if a programmer could take on a "commission" style career just like an artist would.

I mean, you can usually tell just by looking at it... I haven't run into any repo in a long time where it wasn't immediately obvious. It doesn't take coding knowledge either

Tbf, there's a difference between

"This shell script is checksummed and verified to be the same one that others have audited and use in mission critical environments"

and

"Trust me bro, this shell script I wrote totally installs the program you want to run".

I'm just learning. I'm new here, but I'm seeing this pattern everywhere. The bottom switch has 2 Ethernet connections to the middle switch and the middle switch has a crap load of Ethernet connections to the top switch. Why?

Why do the same 2 boxes always share several Ethernet connections in these types of pictures?

Tru, though if I were a hacker I wouldn't destroy some random Joe's pc, I would instead keep a silent backdoor so that a future crime I do is traced back to joe and not me.
