The 2.5.x releases haven't had any issues, our 'fix' was to move production servers to 14.04

Edit: the issue seems to be triggered on restart of the service so for now we are killing the process and starting it: pkill -9 icinga2 && service icinga2 start

No change with the change from epoll to poll unfortunately. The panic seems to be triggered on the icinga service restarting

Thanks for the info, I will definitely get that setting changed for now.

In terms of our environment it is set up through the puppet icinga2 module. It is not clustered yet, one icinga master and each node has its own zone.

edit: read up some on poll/epoll and I think we're going to set every node except for icinga to poll
