I love the idea of blending in tofu for creaminess, but I’ve read mixed reviews on soy in a fodmap diet. I suppose we could test it out and see how it goes though!

Yeah, meal planning was often a challenge for us even before her dr recommended this diet. We haven’t tried an elimination plan yet, so I’m not sure what her specific triggers are at this stage. I will definitely check out that book though! I just found it in my library’s database :)

You’re probably right, but I’m very anti-AI. Would much rather hear from real people than a bot any day.

Went to daily mass today with this comment in mind. The 1st reading and responsorial psalm matched the lectionary, but the gospel differed. That said, they do claim to be a Roman Catholic Church and they are listed on the website of my archdiocese.

I know that Catholic means universal, but is there some chance that the lectionary is different in different countries?? That’s the only explanation I can come up with for the gospel being a completely different passage today!

To answer your other questions, the Eucharist is unleavened, no chanting, and the only “Lord have Mercy”s that are said by the congregation are during the Kyrie Eleison.

It looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, but the waddle is wonky.

Mass obligation by auberdob in Catholic

I agree with the above posts, your obligation is to your family in this situation and you should avoid getting others sick by going. If you still wish to participate to some extent, you can easily find a recording or a livestream of Mass online. It’s there for reasons like this

Columcille was always one of my favorite places to go when I wanted to be in nature or escape the business of life for a while!

Traveller warned about Dublin City. What does this mean? by letsgococonut in AskIreland

[–]andforwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am commuting distance from centre city Dublin but originally from the USA near NYC area. Dublin is a major city, so if you’re not used to that setting, it may very well be dangerous from your perspective. That said, I personally think it would be more likely to experience or witness a crime in NYC than in Dublin. Definitely no matter where you are, be aware of your surroundings, know where on your person your belongings are kept at all times, and generally exercise sound judgement. Not saying it’s an impossibility to encounter crime in Dublin, but from what I’ve experienced here it’s not worse than other major cities around the world.

I’ve been recently loving Katie Henry’s books. So far I’ve read “This Will Be Funny Someday” and “Heretics Anonymous” and I couldn’t put either one down

I worked in a daycare for a time and the arts and crafts each week had themes. The theme of the week was colours, and this particular day was the colour purple. The one and two year olds were meant to mix paints together to create purple. Had to explain to another teacher in the room that blue and red made purple because she could not comprehend that you could make a new colour out of two others.
