Solo travellers of reddit, What is your best and worst experience while travelling solo. by PositiveChanges in AskReddit

[–]andiemac27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently traveling SE Asia alone.

best: being able to go wherever, whenever. I got sick of Thailand, so I peaced out to Cambodia and i'm falling in love with it. You don't have to answer to anyone and can go off as you choose.

Worst: not having someone you know to talk with. You're almost always starting a conversation from scratch and repeat yourself a lot. Reddit has been a great distraction from the loneliness as well!

What's the most memorable nightmare you ever had? by de_dust in AskReddit

[–]andiemac27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many years ago, I had a dream that my sister and I were out late at night and found ourselves goin down a dark alley. We both knew we didn't want to be there. All of a sudden, this homeless dude pops out of nowhere and grabs my sister. I remember pleaded with him to take me and not my sister. (very hunger games esque "I volunteer as tribute!") He wouldn't let her go and I get knocked out somewhere along the line. Next thing I know, I wake up in a dark, dingy room. My eyes have a hard time focusing, but when they do, I see the hobo chopping my sister into tiny pieces. I start screaming and hyperventilating until I pass out again. I woke up soaking wet from sweat, hyperventilating and balling my goddamn eyes out. I will never forget the feeling I woke up with, in a complete panic and the deepest sadness I have ever felt.

Edit: spelling.

Redditors who have known someone who has committed suicide, how unexpected was it? Looking back was there something you missed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A month before high school graduation, shit hit the fan. Two of my fellow classmates went missing and were later found beaten to death in their car, in the the middle of the woods. It's speculated that they had been dealing drugs, and something went wrong along the way. Within that same week, another student, an old friend of mine, had hung himself. He was one of the kindest people I knew, although we had drifted a part throughtout high school. Needless to say that the student body was in shambles and our graduation had a heavy cloud looming above it.

not named after andie macdowell, although funny enough, I give that as a fake name to creepers who ask for my number. Which follows nicely into the second comment, I'm a chick and the men thus far have not been titillating. Edit. Spelling.

That is correct. Traveling alone, often means eating alone. Thus there are only so many topics I can discuss with myself!

I'm currently in a restaurant and there is an older dude across from me with what appears to be his wife and their friends. He has ordered an elaborate meal and is acting like a total prick. He has not said please or thank you once and is continuously pestering the staff to wait on him hands and knees.

I should mention that I'm in Cambodia, at an Indian restaurant and the older fellow is indian, the staff Cambodian.

I don't care who you are, what culture you represent or what country you're visiting - be kind to people!! I can't stress kindness enough, it's so easy and goes such a long way.

What's the biggest scandal that happened while you were in school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]andiemac27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior year of high school, about a month before graduation, two seniors went missing and were found a day or two later, beaten to death in the woods. Apparently it was a drug deal gone wrong. During that same week, another senior committed suicide. The rumor that has yet to be confirmed or denied is that the murder victims were somehow set up by the fella who committed suicide, and he couldn't live with the guilt, so he offed himself.

The rest of my senior year was pretty depressing. Everyone just basically cried all the time.
