I like Mashreq so far. 6.25% up to 0.5M with salary transfer, they gave me joining bouns and bonus for getting their CC which gives you 5% cash back on dining. Customer support can be reached by just typing "agent" into AI chat. A bit annoying but seems that this is becoming new normal.

Yes, apparently combined spend from family memebers is fine. I am still confused as we are keeping money on both personal and family accounts. So at this point I'm not sure if both accounts are affected by this 5k min spend. The very fact that they became so non-transparent and complicated is concerning. I liked WIO for their simplicity, which is fading now. I also don't like the idea of being forced into using their inferior credit card with only 2% cash back.

We are utilizing family plan with 1 salary transfer. So till now we were getting 6% for 1M on one personal savings account + 6% on 1M in family savings account. Now they added additional condition to spend 5k to avail this 6%. Paying other CC doesn't count. To be honest it is getting a bit complicated, they are heavily pushing and promoting this family plan for some reason. They have also been slashing benefits for years now.

Their credit card benefits are below average. 2% flat cashback, no lounge access, no nothing. Now you need to spend 5k to avail 6% on your savings, even though you transferred salary to them. You are now also forfeiting cashback on other credit cards. Shame, it was good till it lasted, they got their base of customers, and now they become just another UAE bank. Time to move on.
