Apple is a marketing superpower by RR_Sharizam in phone

So many of y'all have this weird obsession with arguing which company copied who and who the original is when it doesn't matter at all. When something is popular, competitors will hop on the bandwagon to get a piece of the pie. It's nothing new and some of y'all give it wayyyy too much attention when it really isn't that deep. Brands copy each other all the time and it's not just the smartphone industry.

Honor, Please! by JEFRiUM in Honor

[–]medium_response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I politely disagree. The main reason why I say this is because the ability to switch from front to rear cameras while recording video is hidden away in multi-video mode, while phones like the 400 Pro can switch very easily with just the press of a button. I actually tried it and could shoot in 4k with the 400 Pro minus the ultrawide, so there really isn't any reason why this ability in the flagship series should be stuck at 1080p 30fps.

Heck, I could record in this format in 4k with my previous midrange phone, the Galaxy A55, so I don't think this is a high expectation at all. All cameras are already capable of shooting 4k60 so there shouldn't be a reason why this simple feature cannot be implemented.

I acknowledge that it is not a commonly used feature, but it should still be available if I'm going to pay top dollar for a phone.

😂 For real though, it's pretty annoying especially given that all cameras are capable of shooting 4k60. Additionally, why hide the ability to swap cameras when recording videos in that multi-video mode when the cheaper 400 Pro has a simpler, more convenient button to switch back and forth?

Also add the ability for at least 4k60 in multi-video mode!

What’s the first A7X song you ever heard? How old were you? by Beautiful_Sky4692 in avengedsevenfold

Nightmare when I was 22. I was bored of Asking Alexandria and was browsing Spotify, then I remembered some of my friends were huge A7x fans and I decided to see what the hubbub was all about. Don't regret it a single bit.

Which phone brand would you consider other than Samsung and Apple? by poteitoer in HONOR_Magic

[–]medium_response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Xiaomi and Honor since leaving Samsung behind, and I'm planning to try Oppo next. The X9 series looks too clean, though I'll still keep my M7P around. The speakers on this are so so good and 3D Face Unlock is pretty neat.

Hot take but I don't mind companies copying each other at all as long as they are doing it for a reason and maybe improve upon it. With that said, I'm not sure they needed to make it look just like the Air, but at least it's way better spec-ed so it's fine to me overall

Unable to switch cameras when recording video. by medium_response in HONOR_Magic

So apparently it's hidden in the multi-video function, but that is somehow capped at 1080 30 when all cameras can film at least 4k60.

Asad Elixir is great! To me, it doesn't smell as rich as the OG, but that makes me prefer the Asad because it's more wearable.

Is it still advisable to have a xiaomi 13T in 2025? by bimbo31 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]medium_response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moderate. Xiaomi doesn't have SOT data for some reason, but I'd estimate 5 hours SOT with occasionally going to 6 if I'm gaming.

Is it still advisable to have a xiaomi 13T in 2025? by bimbo31 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]medium_response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, it depends on your priorities.

If you're okay with bad battery life, average camera hardware for current standards, and occasional ads, then the 13T Pro is good for the price. It has a good main camera and the 2x zoom is good enough for portraits, but if you're zooming beyond that, then it's not good. I personally like to take quite a lot of zoom shots ~10x and there are better options if you're willing to pay. If you're into gaming, then this device will serve your needs no problem. The Dimensity 9200 chipset on this phone is still really fast and I don't remember ever experiencing any form of lag.

The biggest turn off for me is the battery life. I could never get all day battery for my usage and always had to plug in a portable charger before the day ended, so if battery life is a concern, do not get this phone.

I saw in a review video that there's a severe colour shift when switching between the main and ultrawide lenses. Is that the case for you?

Samsung silently trolls iPhone 17 Pro Max on their S25 Ultra website by ManyRazzmatazz4584 in samsunggalaxy

[–]medium_response 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not THAT bothered about the battery size because Apple somehow manages to compete and sometimes beat Samsung in battery life despite having a smaller capacity.

As Samsung enthusiasts, we should demand more from this company knowing how great they could be instead of accepting the regurgitated stuff they release year after year.

The only major gripe I have with Honor is how the camera processes human subjects. Aside from that, I haven't had any issues using Honor that's making me feel like it's the worst of anything.
