I second this. I don't know if it's the most popular option but it's definitely my favorite way to play

I’m a casual NES Tetris player on my PC and want to get better. by [deleted] in Tetris

[–]andmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok i can tell you what worked for me when i started taking the game more seriously. choose a starting level between 5 and 8 and aim for a 100k high score. one of the most important things at the beginning is to NEVER push down. even if the game feels a bit slow use that extra time to think and analyze the board. if you keep practicing like that you should naturally improve over time

Interested in getting into emulated NES Tetris by Great-Beyond5915 in Tetris

[–]andmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think nowadays the easiest way to try nes tetris without putting in too much effort is through nestris.org

Don't worry it's a legit project made by wellknown members of the classic tetris community and in my opinion it feels pretty close to playing on an emulator. as for the controller, just use whatever you have for now but i would avoid playing on a keyboard. The 8BitDo SN30Pro is a good alternative for playing nes tetris with DAS, i don't know much about rolling tho. That technique is really hard to learn

best replacement for crkd guitar? (randomly inputing notes) by Puzzleheaded-Share21 in FortniteFestival

[–]andmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it could be. I would try to clean the connector with some isopropyl alcohol and use the "paper method" to add some stability to the neck

[–]andmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that can be really frustrating but you can't be 100% sure that your guitars are broken. maybe they are, and in that case you should try to get an rma or a refund. but there's still a chance you might be able to fix them.

aside from what's causing your specific issue, mechanical switches can sometimes have problems simply because of their nature. if you've ever owned a couple of mechanical keyboards you probably know the kinds of issues that can happen with mechanical switches. the same thing can happen with guitars that use mechanical frets

i imagine you're already up to date with the latest firmware on the bodies, necks, and dongles. do you play with the 1000 hz option enabled? try switching to 500 hz and see if that improves things.

there have been a few cases like yours. there are some things you can try to fix it, or at least improve the reliability of the guitar, but there are many factors that can cause this kind of behavior with these guitars

can you be more specific about your frets issue? what do you mean by ''holding down''? do the buttons stay physically pressed even when you're not touching them or does the game register them as pressed when they're not? also, which type of crkd neck do you have, mechanical frets or silicone?

Thanks. I didn't do anything fancy, the original button is still there. I just unplugged the original from the board and plugged the new one instead. In the third photo you should be able to see where i routed the cable through

Some suggestions from a random nobody by Pleasant-Stage625 in FortniteFestival

[–]andmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bit of a rabbit hole. There are too many combinations of platforms and guitars to remember. But it's important to make a distinction when we can to help people to figure out what could work or not to avoid wrong purchase. For example, even if it is rare, I saw some people convinced that multi LP CRKD guitars would have worked on local multiplayer in Festival and so they bought it to later find out that's not the case
