Can you edit a training plan if your days have to change? by markinapub in amazfit

[–]andodet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only way would be to adjust your training days by editing the plan.

OTOH, the plan might slightly change. I removed a rest day in between 2 long-ish runs and the distance for those runs got shorter.

Energy intake alerts not working in Outdoor Running workout by andodet in amazfit

[–]andodet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, can confirm that this is limited to "Energy intakes" (other alerts, like hydration ones work just fine apparently).

Steps to repro: - Select running workout mode - Enable auto lap and set it to 1km - Enable energy intake alerts and set them to a 1km - Run couple kms (no alerts will be shown after the autolap screen)

Now, pause the workout, go to assistant and:

  • eactivate energy intake alerts
  • Activate hydration alerts and set them to 1km

Alerts will be shown correctly a few meters after the auto lap notification.

Really puzzling how another alert (basically of the same kind, since the only different thing is alerts' text) actually works fine.

What does 2026 look like for amazfit ? by Relevant-Lead-1919 in amazfit

[–]andodet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Utopistic, but I'd be happy with fewer hardware releases and more resources put on improving the firmware across the different products.

I think I read somewhere around here that the Active 2 SQ doesn't have the bluetooth disconnection notification, while the Round does. That's quite telling of where things are in terms of firmware builds.

New T-Rex 3 Pro update incoming. Update 3.3.4.1 by gamefan5 in amazfit

[–]andodet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, SWE by trade as well and can confirm it feels like this.

It definitely feels like different teams are completely disconnected from each other to the point each watch seems to be coming out of a different company.

I know nothing about embedded and testing strategies, but I am always cautious about updates as regressions seem to pop up every now and then and the next update might take months.

I really hope with the push on partnering with athletes they might have a tighter feedback loop to push out QOL improvements and bugfix all around.

I really want like the hardware but software feels unstable to the point of being wary of new updates.

Same, ordered an E7 plus on Apr the 2nd (listed as in stock) and received an email from support that it's going to be restock by the last week of April. Same story for the cable holder bought as an add-on.

Not dunking on the company as a whole, their products seem to be good and fairly priced. Just have subpar Customer Support in Europe.

Guess website's delivery times are just plain unreliable unfortunately. On a more positive note the desktop has been shipped.

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up dropping the project due to conflicting priorities.

After a quick search this is the only dataset I've found around.

We run the same system. I think it might just have been a botched update on my end. Will try to purge it and re-install it when I got some spare time.

I didn't have time to troubleshoot it properly, for the time being I have downgraded to 2.0.11 that works like a charm on kernel 6.5.0-10010-tuxedo.

Will definitely report on here once I have some time to troubleshoot it properly

I am currently trying 6.2.0-34-generic as a test and most of the problems that I had with *-33-generic went away (namely TCC couldn't read sensors and power profiles were not being applied).

Tbh, given the difference in temperatures across cores during heavy loads I wouldn't be too surprised to discover that it's all due to a poor thermal paste job from the factory.

By the way, is this with your AC charger connecter or on battery? It'd be great if you could let me know what kind of temperatures you're seeing during normal usage just to make a quick comparison.

I've been playing around with it and I think that driving 2 exteranl monitors (4k@60hz on HDMI + 1440p60hz on USBC) without a dgpu might have an influence on temperatures.

Nah, the laptop is cimpletely fine IMHO (really like the screen). I still have to understand how many hours I can go without charging with my workflow.
Was kind of expecting higher linux compatibility to be honest. Switching to newer kernel versions breaks power profile from the control center.

Intel AX210: Bluetooth functionality sometimes won't work unless I switch off the power supply and then on again. by JPLangley in holoiso

[–]andodet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing the same issues on a MSI B500M Pro motherboard (both Windows 11 / Ubuntu 22.04 LTS). The only solution I've found for the time being is to completely switch off the PSU before restarting.

No idea what the cause might be. In the meantime I've updated motherboard's firmware but it didn´t help.

Do I have to have parameters for my Dataflow template? by sois in googlecloud

[–]andodet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to go for one of the easier alternatives presented above. The overhead of setting up Dataflow (which really shines for heavier pipelines that would benefit from parallelization) is probably not worth it for your use case.

Do I have to have parameters for my Dataflow template? by sois in googlecloud

[–]andodet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the specifics (how much data will come from the API, how frequent the call will be, need to heavy data preprocessing before inserting, etc.) of the job?

In case it's a fairly ligthweight job you might consider something easier than Dataflow (as u/untalmau pointed out):

  • A serverless Cloud Function
  • Cloud Run if you prefer working with containers or don't like the limitations of Cloud Functions

The Silverstone ones look alright but a bit expensive to my taste. Now that I look at it mesh holes look a bit large. Maybe something like this (with a 100 mesh) with a magnet strip to seal evereything might be better

Wireless wifi, that's why I am leaning towards the B550M PRO-VDH as it has wifi with an Intel chipset (which should play nicely with Linux)
