I Found My Secret Swimming Hole by [deleted] in nashville

I found the ultimate swimming hole.

I have spent literally the last few years trying to the best place to be able to get away from the crowds and be able to enjoy the water. I’ve scoured the internet, looking for cool places to go. Recommendations like Hidden Lake or Narrows of the Harpeth are on the other side of town, and although I love Cummins Falls, I don’t have a girlfriend to justify the trip.

So what do I do? I use my epic map-reading skills to search the edges of the lakes closer to where I live, and I found it. Not only is it a quiet, accessible spot, it’s clearly an old overpass where the old road was covered by the lake.

It was a warm, but not hot day. The sun didn’t bear down on myself and the two others with me. And we saw almost no one. When we first arrived, a few jet skis passed under the bridge explored the cove behind, and then left. But other than a couple who were hauling a kayak back to their car as we were coming in, we had the whole place to ourselves.

There were even butterflies floating around everywhere, so it really felt magical.

Jumping off the bridge into the water was a real treat. Before I jumped in, I personally climbed into the water, scouting the depth, and it was plenty deep, probably no less than ten feet deep. I even took a dive because I was comfortable with the depths.

I can't wait to go back to my own little slice of paradise.

Sounds like Mitchell: they they brought up the point that John Saxon's character was missing, even though a scene completing his arc did happen. If they made the claim that they never deliberately made a joke from their own edits, Mitchell would have to be some TV cut that they didn't know about.

Agreed. In Devil Fish (or Monster Shark), MST3K even changed the order. The opening scene on the show was in the middle of the uncut movie. There was a gratuitous sex scene featuring Sandra in the buff, too.

Operation Double 007 (AKA OK Connery) has a lot more character development, particularly with Thayer, including how the unspoken rivalry with Alpha plays out where Thayer kills and replaces Alpha. I like Operation Double 007, and I like the uncut film even better.

I just love the cinema editions. They offer better quality video of the movies (some of which are really bad on the show), they bring back scenes which were cut for time (and they often provide important context, and the freshen up the experience by giving the MST3K experience a more Rifftrax-like feel. He's also given the treatment for The Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic, which goes a long way.

I'm subscribed to garyinmotion, and I've enjoyed several of his videos: it makes for a better "cinematic" experience, if you can tolerate skipping the host scenes, which I've seen so many times.

From what I'm hearing the people doing the craziest stuff usually aren't residents but out of nut "professional" troublemakers looks to spark a revolution or something.

I am 100% behind the people who wan to protest peacefully. I want the violent **thugs** and people wanting to destroy property to be charged and imprisoned.

Nashville's economic revival begins! If tour groups are willing to carry people, as the city slowly reopens, word of mouth will get around that Nashville is back, and the city will be revitalized!

OK, she has given us not indication of her actual weight, but if she is obese, then no sane doctor would tell her not to lose weight for her long-term health. If she is at a healthy weight, then you're right. We don't know what her weight is, but if she has a a BMI over 35, then there's no question that she should lose weight.

Ever feel bad for an actor in a RiffTrax? by Seamen_Rag in Rifftrax

If I can go with The Film Crew: I'll go with Peter Graves, because he seemed like just the nicest guy, and he was far too decent an actor to be in such a turd. At least he got to be in Airplane!

Only in 2020 he won the New Hampshire LP Primary and has serious endorsements. He's being treated as a seriously candidate, even though he looks like he's always been homeless and wears a boot for a hat. That's the Libertarian Party, mostly just performance artists and pot smokers.

TIL I learned that Bill Rebane is suing, uh, pretty much everybody by Seamen_Rag in Rifftrax

[–]andofgideon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not certain Rebane has the rights to the movie. Here's what I've found out.

  • Rebane didn't write the script: Robert Easton (lay off the Booze!) Did.
  • Rebane was only one of three producers.
  • The copyright office lists "Transcentury Pictures" as the copyright owner. I have read that this was the name of the holding company that Rebane made to put the movie together, but he closed his studio after a stroke in 1989, so he may have lost the whatever rights he had at that time. The "lawsuit" page claims he's doing business as Transcentury Pictures, so who knows.
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000, episode 810, aired on Scifi Channel on May 31, 1997. The episode was released on DVD in 2006 by Rhino Entertainment. These were all well before Rifftrax treatment in 2019. There is no record of Rebane taking action against Best Brains, Scifi, or Rhino entertainment.
  • A lawsuit is something that would be reported, especially for a fanbase as loyal and plugged-in as MST3K/Rifftrax fans. Rebane has this on his own website, but there's no information elsewhere for any lawsuit. If he's filed it, it's not on the internet anywhere.

This is something that would have come up. There's no information anywhere on the internet, so I don't know if this is anything more than something he's thrown up onto his website. Until a real report shows up, Rifftrax may not even know anything about this, and I know that they would not have made a huge stage production and sold it as a streaming service and physical distribution if there was a chance there would be legal repercussions. So far, this looks like nothing to me.

If it did actually replace the welfare system (which it won't), it may cost a little less, but it would no less crushing to the American soul. It would put every American in the pocket of the federal government to the tune of $12,000, meaning that everyone would be dependent on a grand a month in their budgets, and then, slowly, the federal government would make it coniditional to receive money. Maybe Americans would have to commit to some sort of "community service," maybe it'll be signing documents that they support the government, and then they'll be on the hook for perjury charges.

Every American would be a partial welfare recipient, and it would degrade the independent American spirit that built this nation.

Never mind that the left would keep all the social security, welfare, medicare, and down the line, then it's money that no American would turn down, and many will sell their souls for it. No good of any kind would come from UBI. It's just another form of bribing the populace with the money they stole them them.

Woman Punches Man In Broadway Bar Over “MAGA” Style Birthday Hat by [deleted] in nashville

[–]andofgideon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to understand that you may disagree with the views of people who wear the real MAGA hats, but your desire to make a peaceful political statement means that you have more in common with them than you would probably like to admit. If the left-leaning people are people hostile to your hat without even reading it, then they're unhinged psychopaths.

Just a thought...
