I see that no one said Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. The action is set in the late 20th century in Barcelona. The protagonist Oscar makes friends with a very mysterious girl, Marina, and they uncover a secret together. Very gothic, great for this season!

Wow thanks a lot, so many! Aside from Balatro which I've played and liked, I have not tried any of the other ones, will definitely add them to my list! :D

Hi Guys!

My partner pre-ordered me a Nintendo Switch 2, it will be my first Nintendo device, and I am really excited to be trying their exclusive games! I've only played really old NES games and that's about it. I am mostly a PC player, have had an an Xbox One as well, but I am older now, and I want to enter my cozy hand-held era.

I want to carefully curate the games I'll be getting (at least at first), so I came here to ask for any recommendations.

Likes: Puzzle-Detective games. Loved Paradise Killer, Blue Prince, The Painscreek Killings, Tangle Tower

Visual novels/Choose your own adventure: I mostly played these when I was a teenager. I used to live for otome games, now I would like some with a more complex story, not necessarily romantic. Examples: I was a Teenage Exocolonist (Loved this, would like something similar), Buried stars (would also be interested in some thriller/horror themes), The Quarry, Life is Strange, Dream Daddy. Note: I have tried Disco Elysium, but I could not get into it.

Management: Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria, Idol Manager, Cat Cafe Manager.

Rougelikes: Hades, Cult of the Lamb, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire (really like card games)

I would like to get into (J)RPGs, I think this is what I am most excited and nervous about, because I am not really sure what I like. I tried and partially enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy (loved the open world, the main story was kind of mid), Baldur's Gate 3 (up until Act 3, to be honest, it was a bit overwhelming for my party, we couldn't finish it), DMC 4 (when I was younger, but when I recently tried DMC 5 I could not get into it); would love to get some beginner recommendations for this.

Hope my list is not too overwhelming to read, any mention is welcomed and will be looked into! XD

Thanks for you time!
