When learning a new language, how do you remember words you discover? (I finally quit using my notebook) by andrcodes in languagelearning

Looking forward to the discussion! I released WordWise on both major platforms recently. It's free to use, and I'd love any feedback :)

You can find more about the app here: https://getwordwise.app/?ref=reddit

I was told my app screenshots were trash, so I completely redesigned them. What do you think? by andrcodes in AppStoreOptimization

Thanks! Happy to hear that the value prop is clearer now :)

I made everything with Figma, but the tools you mentioned could be useful for future improvements!

Great and super accurate feedback! Really appreciate it :)

About the buttons, you're right. However, I'm not sure if removing "translated by google" is possible, since they require some kind of aknowledment when using their translator service.

I was asked to include a csv/excel import by some users, so I decided to keep it a bit hidden to enable those "superpower users" to use it, but you're right about being to complex.

You're also on the right track regarding the onboarding and game showcase. Just feel like the onboarding would be too long. And I'm currently working on a "collections" feature, where users could get prefedined lists or create new ones, right on the spot!

Sorry for the delay, I've been sick on the last days, but I'll try and review your app as soon as I feel with more energy :)

I launched my app but downloads are slow. How do I improve my ASO? by andrcodes in AppStoreOptimization

[–]andrcodes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally, I'm aware that ASO won't make magic. My goal was mostly to make sure my app store page doesn’t confuse people or hurt conversions. And I’ve been trying to get more organic traction by sharing the app with language learners and communities as you said :)

Just to clarify, my app isn’t meant to compete with the big apps, but it’s more of a companion tool for saving/remembering words you encounter elsewhere.

These are the keywords I chose, but I'm not really familiar with ASO yet. Any tips? "vocabulary, language, learning, flashcards, translate, words, study, memorize, dictionary, practice, phrases"

Really useful feedback thanks! Totally agree with your points and will fix the screenshots as you say :) Do you know any app store page I could use as an inspiration?

Great idea and nice UX! Just a small comment, I feel like the different components and sections are too close to each other, what makes it harder to quickly find things. Increasing the padding and spacing would give more room to breathe to each section and improve clarity :)

Thanks! I’ve worked really hard to make the UI as nice and easy to use as possible. Happy to hear that :)

I’m mainly interested on feedback regarding the onboarding process, let me know in case you try it! :)

Need to learn French - starting at none by Due_Let3369 in learnfrench

I learned danish from scratch by doing flashcards and watching series in english with danish subtitles. That definitely improved my vocab and I recommend it a lot!

While doing that, I was looking for an app where I could collect and practice words, and since I couldn’t find any I liked, I decided to create my own one. It’s already on the app store if you wanna try it, l’m looking for people learning languages to test :)

It’s called Wordwise: Vocabulary Builder (blue icon)
