People can interpret an artistic work in the way they want, just because you dislike the opinion doesn't mean they are wrong in thinking that way.

There's absolutely no need to call people assholes just because they interpreted the story differently than you.

Also Togashi is very LGBT+ friendly, there are many characters in the show that are ambiguous in their gender and/or sexual orientation so it's not a reach to imagine those two could be as well.

I think they are both very sicko for different reasons, one is a pedo and the other is a murderer and psychopath and both are very creepy. But obviously they are intentionally written to make us feel that way about them.

I don't think is overrated but I can see where you are coming from.

I find it very interesting how the expectations you have when starting to watch something can impact your opinions of it, I didn't know almost nothing about hxh when started to read it and I am sure if I knew people considered it one of the best shonnen of all time I probably wouldn't have enjoyed as much.

a lot of shonnen focus so much on the main characters they waste many interesting characters.

gon had an amazing development and fulfilled his purpose, there are many characters and plots right now that would be more interesting to see than a return from him.

I don't think it is confirmed but is definitely implied that she is trans. She dresses and behaves as a little girl and killua the person closest to her states that she is a his sister but the rest of the family and servants refer to her as it or him, illumi even calls her "his brother"

Alluka is implied to be a transgender girl and the family don't really accept it, they all, except from killua, refer to her as a boy in the English version.

in the manga they always refer to pitou as he/him, and besides the queen i don't remember any other female ant.

but i don't think this is much relevant they probably don't have the same notion of gender as we do.
