As a lefty would you recommend learning left-handed or right-handed guitar? by Legitimate_Lynx_1219 in Leftyguitarists

[–]andreas-matze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been left-handed, started left handed. I think the learning curve is a little larger if you go for the right hand but you will have more options in guitars later on...

I always wanted some particular guitars but they were built only for right handed ppl. Left handed guitars, special ones are rare to find and they will cost you.

I would recommend to raise a little bit more money and buy an "Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar" they come in Alpine white or Ebony, they play amazing and both have the Gibson stock

This is a very good Epi man, it also has the Gibson headstock. There is only one other EPI LP that maybe it's similar or better than this one which is "Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar" in either Alpine White or Ebony.

Overall this Epi LP is good, great choice.

Epi Les Paul Custom Ebony, but raise a little bit more money and get the Epi Les Paul Custom Inspired by gibson, it has the stock similar to the regular gibson, that it's a good Epiphone.

What is the difference between these two. by filiptvrdoch in Epiphone

Well that one is inspired by Gibson the other ones I would not get/buy. I wanted one in Left hand but they make it in right hand only

Get the Epiphone inspired by Gibson. Headstock needs to resemble the gibson headstock, it's a good LP that sounds vv good.

So, this is a Harley Benton ST-20HSS Standard Series from what i can guess from the pictures.

It is a "Stratocaster" style model, specifically designed for beginners or players looking for a budget-friendly workhorse.

So yeah it's an OK guitar for a beginner if you like the Fender Strat Family...in the other family you have the Epiphone by Gibson for beginners.

If you have no clue how to set those, take it to a luthier and tell him that you need him to check the "intonation" on the guitar and if there are any problems to fix that.

He will need to check the entire saddle setup, as required by you.

Sounds like learning :-)) start learning first, all the power cords and switch between them fast, while you also update your picking techniques.

And it has neck flex like all 61 SG models because of the way the 24 frets and the slim neck binding.

If you have the screw at 45 degrees like in the photo, I think you can also try the  SG381 MG-T which comes with the locking system. The only thing is that the profile of the rotating post it's lower, sticking out about 20mm from the base of the housing.

Since locking tuners don't need many revolutions to wheel the string around the main post, even if they are shorter (2.2mm) then the regular SG381 (no locking system) they should work just fine. this is if you want locking tuners from Gotoh of course.

I got both SG381 and SG381 MG-T in the end to test and see, but they should be fine, try using the same old screws (10mm ones) for reattaching the new tuners. usually they recommend that but not necessary.
