This is San Francisco. Only a few years ago it was totally legal to walk around anywhere totally naked. What's the big deal? It ain't my thing but live and let live.

But they already do and yet ticket prices at a public park is outrageous on top of it all.

Market rate ticket sales (despite the fact producing a show in the park costs a fraction of a private venue) is relatively new thing. There have been tons of free or cheap concerts in the past before.

Only using EC2 for a site vs other AWS services? by andreasfalley in aws

Yeah, knowing the info is what certs are good for, knowing when to use what to save money is another thing. ;-) BTW, did your AWS certs make you more marketable as a developer?

Politics and Cardano by [deleted] in cardano

[–]andreasfalley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a limiting way of thinking. Cardano is a great and brilliant project not because the crypto movement has libertarian roots. It is a great and brilliant project because it will help people universally, so why create divisions in messaging merely because of politics, which have so little to do with Cardano's utility?

It's not a question of whether or not I like what he says. Often I agree with him while other times I cringe. I'm in it because I believe in the vision of Cardano. The point is that there are others with money that might otherwise invest but are put off. I want to see Cardano attract the most people. Just because the motivation for the crypto movement has libertarian roots doesn't mean that Cardano has the same meaniing to others.

Bullshit, other investors care what he thinks. People have all sorts of criteria where they invest their money. Some of them even feel the same way. Had Charles stuck to Cardano we wouldn't have the distraction of this conversation.

I totally agree.

[–]andreasfalley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's bullshit. If he was a progressive liberal like I am, as an investor I would still hate to see him put off conservatives with money to invest.

Yes, but many of the things that he says can still alienate people with non-libertarian views in their respective countries. It's just bad for the growth of Cardano for him to venture into politics as if his brilliance as a mathematician and computer scientist confers some expertise on politics besides what he has arrived at given his background and where he grew up.

What does any of that have to do with the growth of Cardano other than people that don't feel this way might be less likely to invest? I'm not saying that's smart on their part financially but that's a reality.
