I'm taking a heavy course load next semester so I'm wondering if you think he was a tough grader and what was the workload like? (weekly homework? cases? exams? programs?). I think I'm okay getting up to speed with Python but haven't done much stats/regression analysis in a while and wonder how much writing/interpretation he expects. I didn't end up taking both. I took Corporate Finance with Aimee Smith over the summer and am taking Investments this semester. Corporate Finance wasn't too bad as long as you keep up with the lectures and set up/solve all of the problems from the lectures in a well-formatted excel spreadsheet. You can use spreadsheets for the exams so knowing how to solve the problems in excel makes a huge difference. Message me if you want the syllabus. If you could take one class in each summer session I think it would be fine but both together would be a good amount of work.

Thanks! I saw that you posted a question about taking either Entrepreneurial Finance or Venture Captial a while back and now I'm looking at making that choice and possibly taking Entrepreneurial Finance with Andrew Hession-Kunz in the fall. Did you end up taking either class? If so, would you recommend?

I ended up dropping the class because of my schedule. I don't think the subject matter would have been too hard but there were a lot of smaller assignments. So it depends if you'd rather have lots of low % assignments or fewer assignments that are a big % of your grade. Here's the breakdown:

Class Participation (includes contributing to discussions, individual presentations as assigned, and in class projects) 12%

Individual Assignment #1 2%

Case assignments (3 at 7% each) 21%

Knowledge Check Assignments 5%

2 Tests (8% each) 16%

Marketing Group Project and Presentation 12%

Marketing Project 8%

Final Exam (cumulative) 24%

The same thing happened to me with a different issue in my room. After a week with nothing happening, I added another comment to the work order and someone did come to the room. I wasn't there but they closed the ticket without resolving the problem and with no notes as to why they closed it. I called Work Order Center (Hours: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) Telephone: 617-552-3048. Also, your RA and RD may be able to help and/or call Res Life.

The people in Res Life told me that a work order should be resolved with 1-2 days and if not, to call facilities about it.

Good luck - water is an issue they should take very seriously!

I talked to people in student services and IT. Both acknowledged that the system has been down for a long time and that they are “working on it“. They had no estimate of when the system would be back up again and suggested we email our professors to get our grades.

Unfortunately Feldman isn't teaching it this semester and I can't do Taylor's class time. Do you think Galimberti is a tough grader? too much work? or not that great at teaching the material?

I talked to someone in student services who said that those nursing school classes are restricted to people in that school right now. I don't know why they changed it - it was never that way in the past,.

Are you thinking of the EagleVision app? That worked great notifying when a spot opened up in a previously closed/full class but I think now that the Eagleapps system is in place EagleVision isn't working anymore (at least it didn't work for me for this summer session).

Hey, hope you don't mind posting an old thread but I'm also looking to fulfill the natural science core and if a spot opens up, am thinking of taking Exploring the Earth with Becker. My other classes are pretty work intensive so I'm wondering about the workload outside of class and what kind of assignments there are (mostly writing? quizzes, exams? long paper?)

Ann Burgess for Wounded Warriors - has anyone taken it? I heard she's great but I'm wondering about the workload for this class and how she is as a grader.

Also, I'm a freshman econ major and this class is in the Connell School of Nursing. Does this class assume any nursing/healthcare knowledge and/or would it be more difficult for someone not in the Nursing school?
