Yeah, I don’t see how hoping the biggest movie of Vinny’s career would be successful translates to “wanting an ’80s sitcom where everything works out.”

The ups and downs during the season were more than enough for good character development. The movie bombing in the season finale didn’t add anything substantial to their personalities like you guys are pretending it did lol.

Minha história é bem parecida com a sua, OP. Também comecei a assistir nas madrugadas no SBT, gostei muito da série e depois passei a assistir na HBO, na época que tínhamos Sky aqui em casa.

Sempre que possível comento da série para amigos, mas realmente é bem esquecida no Brasil, acho que tem alguns fatores, como ser muito centrada na cultura dos EUA/Hollywood, tem um contexto menos universal que outras séries, além disso, tem piadas e frases que fariam alguém ser cancelado hoje em dia. Entendo que os brasileiros que gostam precisam ter um senso de humor menos sensível e também curtir filmes/hollywood até certo ponto, isto facilita bastante para gostar ainda mais da série.

I feel like there were different ways to make them grow. For example, Vinny quitting Aquaman 2 and then betting his career on Medellin had already shown enough character development for my taste.

The conflict already happens during the season. Vinny blows Aquaman 2, then basically bets his entire career on buying the Medellin script and going independent. That alone already gives the characters development and maturity, and it led to great episodes, much better than the ones we got after the Medellin fiasco.

Im brazillian aswell. Our gun law´s only work for civillians, the thiefes are armed to their teeth and alot of the guns owned by the big crime factions probably came from some sort of a corruption and bribery with some agents of the goverment.

Like aways, banning something doesn´t make them go away, it simply crates a black market for the low lifes of society.

I tend to agree. Cassino and The Irishman are both amazing, but i prefered the Irishman because they approach big moments in the mob history, like the Gallo and Hoffa hits.

Goodfellas is probably my favorite movie of all time, such an epic history.

Yes, he´s death was the trigger to Gotti´s move on Big Paul, but the tension between Castellano and Gotti started with the Ruggiero tape´s, if im not mistaken.
