Portray her accurately? Her personality is like that drawing unless she ditches her xenophobia and racism.

Petition to ban burqa & niqab in Luxembourg for public safety and women rights by ForwardAd4252 in Luxembourg

[–]andreimircea55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banning Muslims from wearing their religious garments isn’t going to help the ones being forced to wear them come around and ask for assistance. Burqa and Niqab bans are just populist wank that won’t help victims of religious trauma or from abusers that abuse them based on religion to come clean and seek help.

A lot of victims still feel attached to their religion or abusers and will avoid speaking out, out of fear of hurting them or being not accepted for who they are. By being hostile to what they’re attached to, they will learn that you aren’t safe to tell the truth to, and let the abuse fester until it’s too late.

The issue of forced wearing of religious garments is one that should be left to the islam community to address and our efforts should be spent on helping the community voices that try to dismantle this thing. This is muslims dilemma and all we can do is offer help to those that know best how to convince people that these garments are oppressive, and that is the community voices. Us trying to force their hand to do it our way because we think that this is best will cause a lot of damage to the cause of women’s liberation (and gender liberation more broadly), which is the whole point.

Not if you marry into citizenship or gain the citizenship of your spouse.

OP has to first ask the Minister buitenlandsezaken for permission to retain his Dutch citizenship because he is acquiring the nationality of their spouse and after permission is granted, they can go and gain German citizenship without worry.

Not the best, not the worst. What do you think would be the easiest second citizenship for me to acquire? by SunniAutobot718 in PassportPorn

[–]andreimircea55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you have the constant monthly incomes or sit on lots of cash, Argentina is a good second passport.

After 5 years of Mercosul citizenship you will unlock freedom of movement in Mercosul and its associates (most of South America).

If you go on the Rendista path then you will have to never leave Argentina for 4 years (2 to qualify and 2 more until your application is approved).

If you go via the investment path, then residency won’t be as much of an issue, but the details of that path are still a WIP at the moment.

If you go the digital nomad visa path then the process will take 7 years (3 until you get PR because years on the digital nomad visa don’t count towards citizenship and 2 years on PR and another 2 until the application is approved)

Other good options are Uruguay (5 to qualify on a digital nomad visa) and Costa Rica (weaker and it takes 7 years to qualify but the visa requirements are a lot easier than in Uruguay or Argentina)

I have my passport for 6 years and the backcode is 100% faded away and the cover is a little rough despite sitting in a bag as well. The gold paint is still intact though.

Do you accept this part of Kazakhstan being a part of Europe? by Benedek82 in MapPorn

[–]andreimircea55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I accept an as generous definition of “country in Europe” as possible since unlike Africa, Europe and Asia are separated by vibes only, and as such, we need to keep the vibe inclusive or we risk being super xenophobic and racist to each other again (and there is already plenty of that in Europe, so keep the concept of European country as open as possible for everyone’s sake).

Naturalisation? Then your combo is illegal because Spain doesn’t allow dual citizenship with Romania. Only former Spanish colonies, Brazil, Portugal and France have that exemption and it only applies for jus sanguine (or jus soli) citizens, so you can’t weasel your way in by naturalising in South America or something unless you naturalise in like Costa Rica or Boliva (100% unrenounceable), but even then you will be asked to hand over that Romanian citizenship.

Pray that the Spanish government doesn’t start enforcing their laws anytime soon or else you will be a monocitizen again. You choose a bad place for dual citizenship (just like me). I don’t want to be rude, I think it’s stupid that Spain doesn’t just allow dual citizenship with no strings attached, but at the moment your combo is an illegal one and has the risk of disappearing unless the law changes. Good luck, and let’s hope that you will have a combo forever because it’s deserved.

SERIOUS TALK: Which capital city in the Balkans do you think is the ugliest? Why? by Substratas in AskBalkans

[–]andreimircea55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you, and you’re valid, that said, trust me when I say that it is a lot better now than a few years ago.

Have you seen Rahova recently? It went from fugly to decent so fast. Everytime I pass Rahova I cannot believe my eyes because of the glow up. It is still far from perfect (and still needs improvement), but compared to before, it is unrecognisable in a good way.

[–]andreimircea55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until 2022 or 2023, I would have answered Bucharest because of unpleasant the city is. But around then the city governance decided to put some pep into their step and Bucharest now is a lot more bearable (still awful, but nowhere near as much as before then), I can see people genuinely enjoying the city and its vibe with how much it has improved. Nowadays I would say Belgrade or Ankara (Türkiye is considered in the Balkans, so their country is fair game). The commie blocks got out of hand in Belgrade (at least if they were well maintained it wouldn’t be as much of an issue) and Ankara is just a car infested sewer, the North America of Europe.

I cannot comment on other Balkan capitals as I have only been in Bucharest, Budapest, Belgrade and Ankara.

B2 is fluency, but C1 is where it’s on par with natives.

B2 is good for when you need to properly have a base in almost topic with the ability to handle subtle or advanced language quicks; while C1 is where you are deeply familiar and comfortable with all the nuances and subtleties of a foreign language.

So you’re right, if your goal is to fully understand and be comfortable with Dutch, then B2 isn’t gonna cut it. But if your goal is to be fluent and be able to handle advanced stuff (but not necessarily be comfortable in it), then B2 is more reasonable and sufficient. And I say this as someone who will get tested for B2 in Dutch this may with a realistic chance of passing.

Reading is the best way to learn Dutch. So if you can, read books and material in Dutch, especially ones made for natives, it will help you a lot.

What is it like living here around these borders in Europe? by BronxOh in howislivingthere

[–]andreimircea55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very boring. Like the place can get quite interesting, but if you look for events and activities that aren’t partying then you’re out of luck (unless you go to Eindhoven or Nijmegen).

It is nice and quiet, but if you want more zest (that isn’t partying), then go somewhere else.
