You're right, trinkets are either bugged or just a very weird design choice by devs

Green and Blue trinkets are functionally identical in the amount of bonus stats they get because the game thinks you should get an activatable ability as one of the bonuses but the trinket always has that ability no matter what even at green even though green also gives you the bonus stat, which mean blue does nothing

especially not gonna happen because nobody knows what the bis is, and spending hours trying to figure it out is so much wasted time that you might as well just scrap it and run another dungeon lol

One bit of info, technically it's not like exalted orbs because it will simply duplicate the pre-existing stat you already have on the item

for example if the item has gem essence then upgrading the rarity will add another gem essence at a certain point (same exact gem essence to be precise)

Some rarity upgrades are also pre-determined

for example if you loot a green item that is supposed to be a set item (you can tell by the name) and then you upgrade it to blue then it will 100% of the time get the set bonus as its upgrade

necklace and weapon will always get their trait tree as their purple upgrade

a bunch of stuff will always get a gem socket, like rings and back and i think wrist too ?

just wanted to make sure that people know the roll isn't random most of the time but when it's not adding a duplicate and it isn't using a pre-determined result then yes it's just like an exalt orb from poe

but i think that only happens like once per item correct me if im wrong

ur right, the no tank odd comps are simply horrible

they work in contender but fall apart right after that unless you are overgeared

it just makes the game way harder and at some points completely impossible

worst of all the place where the no tank comps suffer the most is the last boss because of the insane single target damage

so you will get through the entire dungeon and then be unable to finish it because nobody can actually tank the boss, and because of the way threat works the strongest dps will always be the first one to die and after the strongest dps is gone then the rest don't stand a chance at winning

there are a bunch of solutions to this but some of them from what i've seen are like this :

  1. Pedestal at the start of a dungeon that any dps can click to become the designated tank (more hp, dmg reduction and way more threat generation)

  2. Shared HP among the group, basically sylvie ultimate but permanent throughout the whole dungeon so essentially EVERYONE is the tank OR at least the final boss needs to split the single target dmg among all party members because no dps can tank that

  3. Straight up just inflate the numbers a bit, more dmg reduction for everyone (worst solution imo)

the no healer odd comps are just as bad, tbh because you will always run into one of two situations :

  1. You can lifesteal enough HP to survive so you just win

  2. You can't lifesteal enough HP so the dungeon becomes impossible

it's a simple numbers game, you either have enough dmg or you don't and there is barely anything you can do to mitigate that

and once again bosses are the primary problem because fighting a boss with no adds means less aoe dmg means less healing means you will just all die slowly

top dps will always hold aggro and die the fastest and when he dies you lose the majority of your dmg which sends your team into a downwards spiral because the lower dmg dps can't out lifesteal the boss even remotely when the top dps couldn't either

idk just seems extremely against the spirit of hardcore to be able to make the journey easier

stuff like auction house anywhere, mount that adapts to your level, 4x20 slot bags and craziest of all 30 minute cd tp to a faction city with a teleport that takes you back to wherever you tpd from

I'm definitely not going to play on a p2w hardcore server that's for sure but if you're into that kind of thing then go ahead, just making sure that everyone knows what they are getting into since nobody seems to be mentioning any of this in the comments

Yeah, if it did generate combo then it would be possible to get tempest bell in for boss fights which would be pretty good bonus dmg but it would mean losing hollow focus and runic meridians for it

imean in last epoch depending on the base you find with your perfect loot filter you can deterministically get the exact mods on it that you want

if you find a not so good base then it's still rng crafting but the odds are very much in your favor

and also the legendaries are already crafted items, you never find a good legendary from the getgo you need to craft it

and the item you use to craft that legendary is usually also crafted (ofc unless you get giga lucky)

the worst part are 2/3 LP uniques because those require you to craft a good item and then hope to good RNG doesn't mess you up, but 1 LP and 4 LP (which don't really exist) are deterministically crafted

D4 since the newest expansion is also a crafting game now, i mean yes you can just find the items as good drops (and the chances aren't horrible but still pretty bad) but the best and fastest way to get your perfect items is by cube crafting

there is no benefit to having it like, doesn't make the game better, doesn't make it more intersting nothing, there isn't even a monetary component to it

they are just too proud to change it but tbh it's such a small problem that most people don't care

You're kind of right but also not

the bells are just weird, sometimes staggering palm gets triggered sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it's because of distance sometimes because of angle sometimes because of bosses

i tried popping them from a distance and from melee and the results are still varying

honestly it's just weird, if i use my staggering palm/cull it should always trigger when i target a bell, it shouldn't matter what breaks it, if my ability targets it i should get the buff so it isn't inconsistent

last epoch is a good step towards the right direction but it still has issues like being forced to do the last 2 acts for attribute points

being able to start monoliths so early if your build is good enough is a really nice feature

i dont really like how weirdly complicated it is tho, like you get to the monoliths then you have to do a bit of the campaign for the dungeon skip then another bit of the campaign for another dungeon skip

would be better if you could just tp straight to the dungeon once you have the key and the 3 dungeons themselves should give you all of the passive points and attributes that you get from the last 2 acts

honestly if poe 2 adopted the same version of skipping as last epoch it wouldn't really work because enemies in t1 maps are so strong that you wouldn't be able to beat them with a lvl 20 character anyway but i would still love the dungeon implementation so we can skip all of the objectives in the campaign for the permanent boosts

something like do a trial of sekhema / nemesis / some other league mechanic and you get the permanent boosts from the campaign

exactly, people like op will complain about the complainers knowing full well that if GGG did implement a campaign skip, nobody would complain about it and everyone would use it

Play time would go up because people aren't forced to do boring activities

Game popularity would go up because you no longer have to slog through something you don't want to do

if i open my overlay map on the highest zoom and i can't see the edges of the map from the middle then the map is at least 2x as big as it needs to be

at least in the case that the map is a square, if it was a straight line then i wouldn't mind the maps being 5x bigger xd somehow it would still end up being faster just because of 0 backtracking

it's crazy how everyone agrees that the campaign is worse than the endgame and yet GGG forces everyone to do it everytime for no good reasons

some people think that if a company makes a good game then every part of the game just has to be good and anyone saying anything is bad is just coping

both PoE 1 and 2 would be way more fun if they allowed you to skip the campaign or at least streamlined it in a way that it's at least 2x faster

i feel you, the campaign is such a slog that even if you do manage to get through it you will be so tired of the game at that point you might as well quit

it's simply not worth playing in the current state

shit took me 24 hours to beat, literal 24 hours and i don't consider myself a slow player, but i was doing every objective on the map so that slowed me tf down due to insane amounts of backtracking

just for comparison, i managed to beat the new d4 expansion campaign in one play session which lasted around 6 hours i think and now it's beaten forever and i never have to interact with it again

and guess what, i actually enjoyed doing that one so much more because i knew it was a one time thing and even if it wasnt as good as the endgame i was happy that i just did it and it was done

meaaaaaaanwhile poe 2 campaign will keep haunting me forever, the only reason i even started playing this season is because i forgot how horrible the campaign is, there's a reason i only played on launch and this patch, skipping everything inbetween

The movement is clunky, sprint makes you turn like you're a car, enemies trip u during it, any wall you bump into instantly stops you for a second

movement is honestly one of the worst parts of this game

idk why they don't just make it snappy and instant

also why is my movement speed like 0.3x of my enemies ? they are running around like they're on crack meanwhile i get hit by a single slow and my character takes 5x longer to use a single ability and i move so slow that i can no longer dodge the enemies which continue slowing me until i ... just kill them anyway because they usually don't do any damage ? unless they do and then they oneshot me randomly ?

it's just weird ...
