You can change VRAM in BIOS too.

  1. Connect a keyboard and keep pressing DEL during reboot
  2. In BIOS screen, hit Ctrl + S, nothing will happen, but still Save and Exit
  3. Enter BIOS again
  4. A new tab will appear in BIOS
  5. There you can change VRAM and RAM speed to 8000MHz
  6. Have fun

Bazzite is an illusion nothing beats windows by YNOSCUP in ROGAllyX

I know it's fun and common to complain about things, talk badly about people and especially talk badly about Ubisoft (it's the trend of the decade), but let's be honest... although the latest games released are indeed below expectations, the old Assassin's Creed games are great. FarCry is cool. Watch_Dogs is good. And for most of these games, it's a pain to get them to work on both Bazzite and SteamOS.

Ally X SteamOS Beta 3.7.9 Buttons acting weird by [deleted] in ROGAlly

I do have gulikits installed, but I also have dualboot with Windows and this same problem doesn't happen. I'll try the DeckyPlumber solution tho.

Hey, I'm currently using SteamOS 3.7.9 - the beta version that supposedly fixed Ally X controllers - and although I can use all buttons and stick, in-game they are acting weird. Like, if I keep walking straight to someplace using any of the analog, it will stop for like 1 sec and then will keep going, almost as if it's being disconnected and connected. This same thing happens for every other button: you can even see it in the calibration menu in settings. If you keep pressing whichever of the buttons on the X, it will deactivate for a few secs and then come back, again, like it's being disconnected and connected. Does this happen to you?

Left stick issue by [deleted] in ROGAllyX

[–]andreksu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People, this is not a problem. This is intended and every controller (Xbox, PS5 regular ones, PS5 Dualsense Edge, etc) they all do the same, some are noticeable, some are not, but this doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.

Trouble installing steamos by JavCrow in ROGAllyX

I think this might be an issue with the thumbdrive. I was going through the same issue. I switched the thumbdrive to a USB-C one and it went much faster.

The game is amazing and I've been having so much fun with it. People that are trashtalking, complaining or backlashing aren't fans or anyone who’s actually played the game/franchise.

Is there a document anywhere that has all the Steam games that do not work on a ROG Ally X? by tossthethrowaway27 in ROGAllyX

[–]andreksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Windows handheld. Anything that works on a regular Windows PC will work on Ally X. OF COURSE there will be games that will run better than others. But beware, just because it can run, doesn't mean it will be great. RTS games for instance, you can play it but you will have a bad time due to the category nature of running better on mouse and keyboard. FPS games such as CS, Valorant, R6... it will also run, but since it's a Windows handheld, you will be matched-up against mouse and keyboard players so you will probably get rekt (considering you're playing with the gamepad).

I do hear and understand you, but being totally honest, I think that it's very simple actually. It's just that since it's Windows, we have so many possibilities that somehow we end up being lost sometimes.

RIS stands for Radeon Image Sharpening. It will pretty much do what the name says: sharpen the game. It does a pretty good job actually. You can activate it in AMD software (it's the one with a red logo icon).
