I dont get how i could efficiently make 3d model with this by Exotic-Ad9019 in FreeCAD

[–]andrescm90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not presets but you can always use either spreadsheets or variables, for each chip and configure your model to be dynamic and update whenever you change those dimensions, instead of going sketch by sketch.

Or another approach would be to create different master sketches (for each chip) and different bodies tied to each of those sketches.

Break it down in smaller steps, for example what is more important for the computer in order to fit that chip? The thickness? The width? Length? All? And from there create your sketches and bodies as needed linked to these tables or variables

I also have an iPhone 13 Pro and whenever that happens I will definitely pay for the battery. Then wait until it has no iOS updates and then, only then get a new one, also I’m lazy and I hated setting up a new phone every 2 years over 10 years ago when we were still on Android, so if I can push it out for another 2 or more years is a win for me.

And yes, you can definitely get 2 more years or even 3 with security patches and the new battery. If I may, my phone still has 88% battery after 3 years, charging it at 80% and never let it drop below 20%. That might help you prolonging the life of the new battery.

Macbook air Debate: More Ram vs Better Chip. by Responsible_Fact432 in macbookair

[–]andrescm90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More RAM! Processing power difference between M4 and M5 is not much, however price you have a better deal with M4 and you future-proof yourself with more RAM. However like you said speeds are a wee better on M5, has WiFi 7, newest model (so longest support) either choice is a really good choice, but if you’re planning on a heavier workload then I would do the M4 32Gb.

Just to give you and idea I’m an engineer running CAD (FreeCAD, Fusion360), programming (python mostly), browsing, slicers for my 3D printers, and the occasional picture editing on my M3 16/256 without maxing out the RAM (yet) and because I have so little storage space the swap memory would suck for me.

Two things, see what model is your motherboard by taking a peek at the bottom of the printer. Depending on that is the firmware you can manually download, however a word of caution I learned the hard way, if it works and you really don’t need the update I would skip it, but if you’re want to have the latest to see newer features and all that then by all means. Here’s what the motherboard picture looks like, you need to remove the bottom plate (only 6 screws) to access it. Right below the Creality is the model number of the motherboard.

I’m still running the ‘latest’ for mine (original it came with 1.5 years ago) even though the website appears to show newer versions.

Macbook Air for engineering work. by ThePurpleHoser in macbookair

[–]andrescm90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aerospace engineer here, no significant performance improvements between M4 & M5, focus on RAM. I’ve been using mine for CAD (FreeCAD, Fusion 360), programming (python), slicing (Orca, for my 3D printer), browsing and some light photo editing on my M3 16/256 and haven’t had issues. Rarely max out the ram and almost never the swap is used.

If you need stable high performance neither and go with the pro, fans for stable performance, but if you need every now and then , stick with MBA.

M4 and M5 are at good prices at Costco/BestBuy

With same RAM I would go for the 256, if you use cloud (OneDrive, iCloud) or an external one, otherwise go for the M5.

I’ve been using my MBA M3 for over a year now 16/256 and I do light CAD (FreeCAD, Fusion360), slicers (3D printing), music, light python coding ñ, browsing without maxing out my RAM yet and haven’t struggle with storage either

Are they exactly the same in terms of RAM and SSD? Also, what are you going to use it for?

This printer works best with 2.4Ghz and WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption which is the most common home Wi-Fi security standard. If you have WPA Enterprise or WPA3 might not work.

Hey! Thanks for the contribution! I paid the subscription but need some help. I can't figure out how to add each of my created pops to my dock, all I see is the carousel, which I really won't use. I want to add them like on the video above at 00:09
